Pimlico to host “College Day at the Races”
Pre-registrations are being accepted for the Maryland Jockey Club’s College Day at the Races to be held Sunday, Sept. 18 at historic Pimlico Race Course.
Students are encouraged to sign up for the unique opportunity to experience a day of live racing, music, food, and a chance to win $10,000 in scholarship money.

Twenty-five year-old apprentice rider Pedro Pena earned the first win of his career Friday at Laurel Park in a $33 upset.
A total of 10 prizes will be awarded of $1,000 each throughout the day. The event will run from noon to 6 p.m.
To be eligible for a chance to win, students must pre-register by showing valid college/university ID and photo ID. Students who have yet to obtain a school ID may show proof of admission.
Following pre-registration, students must check in on-site between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. the day of the event. Once completed, each student will receive a betting voucher.
Winners will be announced throughout the day and invited to have their photo taken in the winner’s circle after each race.
