“We’re thrilled to have Off to the Races back on the air,” said Frank Vespe, owner and publisher of The Racing Biz, which presents the program. “We’re looking forward to another season filled with great guests, good banter, and plenty of laughs.”

Saturday’s show features a visit with Preakness-winning jockey Jose Ortiz. Ortiz was in the irons May 21 to pilot Early Voting to victory in the 147th running of the Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown, his first Preakness win and second Triple Crown race triumph. He also won the 2017 Belmont aboad Tapwrit.

Also on the agenda is a conversation with retired trainer Lou Albertrani, who conditioned Artax to an Eclipse Award in 1999, a year that also saw the horse involved in one of the strangest incidents in Preakness day history. Also scheduled to be on the show Saturday are visits from Darrell Wood and Derby Bill Watson.

Sponsors include the Virginia Thoroughbred Association, Virginia Equine Alliance, Maryland Jockey Club, Charles Town Races, and others.

“We appreciate our sponsors who support Off to the Races,” Vespe said. “And we especially appreciate all of our listeners.”
