FASIGT-TIPTON 2YO SALE BY THE NUMBERS
The annual Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of two-year-olds in training returns to its traditional spot immediately following the Preakness. The sale, for which breezes were held last week, takes place May 17-18 at the Timonium fairgrounds.

Practical Joke was a three-time Grade 1 winner on the racetrack, and he’s a son of top sire Into Mischief out of a Distorted Humor mare. That’s a pretty solid resume to be a stallion, and his eldest are two-year-olds this year. He leads the pack with 16 entered. Here are all the sires with 10 or more entered:

This year’s sale is all about the Kentucky-breds; nearly 350 of them are scheduled to be offered. Midlantic-breds play a much lesser role here than they do in the company’s yearling and mixed sales, with Pennsylvania and Maryland one-two among the home team.
