Score one for the snow. No, make that two for the snow.

Severe winter weather conditions have forced the Maryland Jockey Club to cancel its live eight-race program Sunday at Laurel Park. Saturday evening’s live card at Charles Town Races also was curtailed by the snow. There, management called off the card following the second of eight scheduled races.

Snow began falling late Saturday afternoon and continued overnight, and a winter storm warning remained in effect through 6 p.m. Sunday, with total accumulations of six to 10 inches expected.

Laurel was the only track in the region scheduled to run Sunday afternoon. Parx Racing is scheduled to have live cards Monday and Tuesday, with Penn National and Charles Town picking back up on Wednesday and Laurel to resume on Thursday.
