Based on a Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races release

Due to winter weather, including temperatures and winds anticipated to produce a wind chill well into single digits and below, live racing at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races for both Wednesday night, February 18 and Thursday night, February 19, has been cancelled.  Simulcasting will go on at Charles Town as scheduled on both days with live racing slated to resume Friday evening at 7:05pm EST.

According to weather.com Charles Town is predicted to see snow showers Wednesday and temperatures as low as 5 degrees.  On Thursday, the temperature is predicted to drop below zero.

Wednesday’s featured event was to have been the $30,000 Blue Ridge Handicap for four-year-olds and up going seven furlongs.  Local star Lucy’s Bob Boy had been installed as the overwhelming 2-5 morning line favorite.  A win in the event would have moved his career earnings above $900,000.
