On September 14, 2012, The Foxie G Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non profit, was established to honor the memory and zest for life of a charismatic, retired racehorse named Foxie G. Foxie G had the heart of a lion and the gentleness of a lamb. He earned $392,568 over his 5 year racing career winning multiple stakes races and becoming graded stakes placed.  He started 35 times, won 14 races, and was in the money 12 times. After his racing career was over due to a severe case of laminitis, he came to Summer Wind Farm, the farm where Foxie G is based, to retire.  He enjoyed 8 years of retirement, sipping ice water from Big Gulp cups in the summer, taking hats off of visitors with a mischievous gleam in his eye, gently sharing his hay rack with one of the barn cats who decided that was a perfect place for a nap and roaming the farm until he heard the rattle of a bag of peppermints.

The Foxie G Foundation was formed to help more retired racehorses like Foxie G whose future may be uncertain without a place to call home.  We could never forget about the many non socialized or feral cats in our community that do not have a home either. We care for many ferals in our area, both in managed colonies or at our sanctuary on the farm. If you are able, please plan a visit to meet our “kids” as we call them. Each of them has a unique story to tell.
