Market King has been cleared off the veterinarian's list and is "good to go" for the Preakness Stakes on Saturday at Pimlico, Dr. Mary Scollay, the equine medical director of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, said Thursday night.

Market King was placed on the vet's list in Kentucky after being scratched in the post parade prior to the Pat Day Mile on the Kentucky Derby undercard at Churchill Downs on May 4. In order to get off the vet's list, he had to work to the satisfaction of a commission vet, pass a soundness test, and pass a blood test.

He worked over the weekend and was checked by a commission vet then. The results of the blood work came back Thursday.

Pimlico took Market King's entry in the Preakness on Wednesday even though he had yet to be cleared from the vet's list, but with the stipulation he would not be able to run if he was not cleared from the list by race day.

Market King, like all runners in the Preakness, will be given a pre-race exam at Pimlico the morning of the race, and be observed by veterinarians during the post parade prior to the Preakness.

In his last race, he was 11th in the Blue Grass Stakes on April 6 at Keeneland.
