M. Jamie "Stickman" Cornwell, 35, of Bowman S.C., passed away on Saturday February 19th after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 22nd at 3:00pm at Bowman Southern Methodist Church and visitation will be held Monday, February 21st from 6-8pm at the home of F.C. and Ellen Easterlin at 6548 Vance Rd, Bowman, S.C. 29018.

Jamie was born February 10, 1976 in Aiken S.C.; he was the son of Marion E. Cornwell and the late Maureen "Mo" Cornwell. He was a member of the Bowman Southern Methodist Church. He was well known in the Horse Racing Community in Laurel, Maryland. He began learning the business in his early 20's in Elloree and then moved to Maryland where, after becoming a licensed jockey, he began winning races beginning with "Banana Pancakes".

Surviving family members include: Father Marion E. Cornwell, Sister Heather and husband JD Bonnette and his niece Maggie. Grandmother Francine Haughey, cousins Michelle and Nicole Haughey, and his Uncle Dean. Special Family F.C. & Ellen "Butch" Easterlin, Robert & Rebecca Anne Easterlin, James & Belinda Logan, Lee & LDeeAnn Delk, and a many more nieces and nephews, along with his extended family in Aiken, S.C. His very special friends which he also considered to be family include: Bobo & Kristi, Lisa, Casey, Al, and Tim.

The family would like to thank all of the Doctors, Nurses, Aides, and friends who have helped with Jamie during his time of illness.
