ANALYSIS

Here’s a wide-open allowance affair for state-breds. Let’s take a bit of a swing with #9 Swiss Legacy (6-1). The Swiss Yodeler colt hasn’t raced since last April — that’s the bad news — and was last seen finishing second against claiming foes (the other bad news). The good news: he won at first asking over a rival who’s gone on to win a couple of allowance races, he’s lightly raced and still has upside, the addition of blinkers seemed to help last time, and trainer Javier Contreras does well bringing horses off the bench. Oh, and the price should be right… #2 Thewitchisgone (7-2) arrives off a win against claiming rivals and looks to be on the upswing… #10 Twilight Years (10-1) didn’t run especially well in last but can improve in his second start of the year… #5 Get Off My Cloud (4-1) just missed against similar last out…

Race 8

2-4-8-9

This is another pretty wide-open allowance test, and we’ll go with #2 Acasha’s Intuition (6-1), who has won two of three and will look for a stalk-and-pounce trip here under Justin Lewis…That was a sneaky-good try in last for #4 Little Roo Roo (10-1), who dueled and led before tiring in the final eighth, passed by the closers… #8 Mr Chance Romance (3-1) ran second against similar, behind a next-out winner, in last. In this contest, there are a couple of three-year-olds taking on older — including both Little Roo Roo and #9 Tobi Wan Kenobi (7-2), It’s hard to take short odds on three-year-olds racing older in March, which is why we’re steering a bit clear of Tobi. It’s fair to note, though, that he hasn’t done a thing wrong…
