“With Triple Crown prep races starting to heat up, great racing throughout the Mid-Atlantic, and an exciting Colonial Downs season coming in the summer, we’re excited to bring back Off to the Races Radio for another fun season,” said Frank Vespe, owner and publisher of The Racing Biz, which presents the program. “Off to the Races is the longest-running racing radio show in the region, and we’re lookingforward to bringing in great guests and talking racing throughout the year.

Virginian Moore owned redoubtable racehorse Queen Caroline, winner of over $400,000, and in 2019, she bred Queen Caroline to top sire Violence. The resultant foal, named Forte, was last year’s champion two-year-old and may take his next step towards the Kentucky Derby in the March 4 Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park.

Wykoff, long a reporter with Baltimore’s WBAL Radio, has earned numerous awards in his career, including an Old Hilltop Award from the Maryland Jockey Club and the Eclipse Award. But he says that his greatest honor may have come when he was named the Honorary Postmaster for the 2017 Preakness.

Sponsors include the Virginia Thoroughbred Association, Virginia Equine Alliance, Virginia Harness Horse Association, and others. The program will air each Saturday through early November’s Breeders’ Cup.

“We appreciate our sponsors who support Off to the Races,” Vespe said. “And we especially appreciate all of our listeners.”

Each week’s show will be archived on TheRacingBiz.com.
