ANALYSIS

Top choice #6 Nice N’ Broad (4-1) has run a couple of pretty good races at this level without brreaking through. but the veteran mare may catch a setup that works to her advantage today as controlling speed… Morning line favorite #1 Quiet Imagination (5-2) has been doing the Goldilocks routine of late; she ran evenly going 1 1/16 miles with no real late punch, then in shorter sprint distances, she was closing but too late. This trip — seven furlongs around two turns — might hit her right between the eyes… #5 Determined Truth (9-2) crushed never-two competition three back and then was an OK second as the favorite versus similar. Last time at this level, she did not show her customary early juice and did not fire. If she bounces back to her prior efforts, she’s right there with these… #3 Lady Storm (7-2) just missed against similar in last, but that was going 4 1/2 furlongs, which seems to be her preferred trip. Her two-turn record is somewhat spottier…

Race 8

We’ll give the nod to the first-timer #8 Mims Hat Trick (5-1) in this spot. The Jeff Runco trainee, a New Mexico-bred, has been working steadily and pretty briskly towards his debut and attracts leading rider Arnaldo Bocachica… #1 Fanueil Hall (9-2) has run pretty well in both starts to date but will have to get away alertly from the inner post… Trainer Cal Lynch rarely sends horses to CT but does so here with #7 Exaggerateddefence (7-2) in search of class relief after pretty middling dirt tries… #3 A Thousand Idols (12-1) just missed against lesser in last but the step up to special weight company may present a challenge…
