Joe’s Selections

Race #1   Picks:   4-3-1-5

Race #2   Picks:   3-6-1-2

Race #3   Picks:   7-9-10-5

Race #4   Picks:   7-4-5-8

Race #5   Picks:   1-3-4-2

In this first-level allowance/optional claiming race for fillies and mares at one mile #1 Texas Reward (3-1) is an improving three-year-old-who seems to be figuring things out. Her last two races were impressive and we think she will improve again today. She will be running late and we think she can get to the wire first. #3 Intrepid Dream (6-1) won her last and has won 2-of-3 lifetime, but will need to run faster to beat this group. She should improve in her fourth race and Gary Capuano is a good trainer so we are giving her the benefit of the doubt.  #4 Rush Hour Traffic (2-1) was facing better at Canterbury Park and doing quite well. Trainer Brett Brinkman is 0-for-21 when taking over training duties so he might not try to win first time out. This is a concern. #2 Dr. Ann (4-1) has a one-run style that was not good enough against the level in last. If she can be rated she has the speed to have a chance.

Race #6   Picks:   12-11-9-8

Race #7   Picks:   1A-3-6-5

In the second-level allowance/optional claiming race at 6 furlongs, several of the best horses is this race have faced each other before. #1A Seanow (2-1) won off the pace last time when he passed Redeem Eddie right at the wire. This race is a half-furlong longer so a repeat of that race is likely.  #3 Redeem Eddie (4-1) is a frontrunner who be very fast out of the gate. If Seanow has an off day, he will be the one to beat and should go gate to wire. #6 Rileys Dude (7-2) recently beat Seanow on a muddy track. If the track today is anything except fast, this one merits extra consideration. #5 Ohio Class (8-1) seems to be getting better and if a longshot surprises today, this will likely be the one.

Race #8   Picks:   1-2-4-6
