Race #2 Picks: 3-2-1-5
Race #3 Picks: 4-14-10-9
Race #4 Picks: 4-3-1-5
Race #5 Picks: 9-3-6-5
Race #6 Picks: 1-4-6-5
In this $20,000 claiming race for NW3 at one mile and 70 yards, #1 El Samuro (5-1) showed speed and faded in last and then made a slight move in the stretch. This will be the second race since this colt returned to trainer Victor Barboza, and we are looking for major improvement today. #4 Twitty City (3-1) seems to like the Delaware surface and delivered a 71 figure at this distance in last. If he can repeat that race, he will be a contender. #6 Spotted Bull (2-1) has been doing well in sprints, but now he is stretching out. Jamie Ness does well when stretching horses out, but we need to see one race before we go all in on this one. Trainer Gerald Bennett wins at a 29% clip on first after a claim, and #5 Roaring River (6-1) has run some good races. A chance.
Race #7 Picks: 12-4-5-2
In this $16,000 claiming race for NW2 at seven and a half furlongs on the turf #12 Declared (5-1) vied for the lead in last and had to be steadied in deep stretch before fading. All in all, It was a decent effort. This trainer/Jockey combination is having a very good meet, and we like him on top today. #4 Big Tall Dawg (10-1) is going back on the turf after running second three straight times on the dirt. If he can repeat his spring turf performances that he ran in Tampa, he will be a contender today. #3 Dr. Ferber (6-1) had a decent turf race here at Delaware in August and a repeat of that effort will put him in the mix. #2 Oxbow Pioneer (12-1) will be making his second turf start at this class level and he may show improvement.
Race #8 Picks: 1-3-5-6
