Race #3 Picks: 1-2-6-5
Race #4 Picks: 3-7-2-1
Race #5 Picks: 9-6-5-4
Race #6 Picks: 10-1-11-4
In the #16,000 claiming race for NW2 fillies and mares at 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf #10 Goodbye Carolina (5-1) is an improving 3-year-old that will keep getting better with experience. She ran a closing 4th with this group of horses in last. Roberto Alvarado on top for the second time and we think she will get over the top today. #1 Glossamer (7-2) had no excuses in last when she faded near the wire, but her speed should put her right in the mix again today. #11 Talks in Her Sleep (9-2) was closing with this same group of horses in last and fits very well with this group. #4 Kinda Lucky (10-1) graduated from the maiden ranks in last and this trainer/Jockey combination has to be respected. A chance.
Race #7 Picks: 3-4-2-1
In this $40,000 first-level allowance race for fillies and mares at 6 furlongs #3 Alta Velocita (6-1) has won four of last five against state-breds at Monmouth. Now moving to Delaware away from New Jersey-bred races, but her speed figures indicate she may also be this best of this group. This isn’t an especially tough allowance race and we have her on top today. #4 Miss Liana (5-1) has been running very well in New York and has won 7-of-18 lifetime. A definite contender. #2 Kashan (4-1) will try to get the lead and almost won at this level in last try. Trainer Ben Perkins is a having a good meet which is a big positive. Trainer Bill Mott is shipping #1 Say Moi (3-1) from New York for Mott’s first starter at Delaware this meet. It’s hard to believe Mott would ship her here just for exercise. One to watch.
Race #8 Picks: 8-6-4-2
