This first-level allowance for fillies and mares at 5 furlongs on the turf consists of many similar horses who have early speed and try to hold off the closers. The exception is #5 Puppymonkeybaby (5-2) who is a closer and might benefit from a fast early pace in this one. If the speed horses wear down, she will be there to pick up the pieces. #8 Golden Can (9-2) has been running well in Maryland and has the ability to lay off the pace and still win. She has a shot today.  #2 Fast Lani (5-1) got bumped early and drifted very badly to the center of the track in last and lost some ground. She will be fighting for the lead early and will need to hold off the closers to win. #9 Cultural Mandate (10-1) may have needed her last after a 4-month layoff, and  she fits well with these.

Race #8   Picks:   3-1-4-7

In this allowance/optional claiming race for fillies and mares at 6 furlongs, #3 Congratsrosy (3-1) was moving best of all very late in last but couldn’t quite catch Cause I Said. If she can improve off that race she will be on top today. #1 Confirmed Genius (2-1) has won three in a row, and four out of her last five at Parx.  She seems to be peaking, running a 70 Beyer figure in her last. #4 Tap Dance Fever (8-1) looks a little below the top two contenders but could get a piece of the pie with her front running style. #7 Cause I Said (4-1) is a very competitive filly and should be considered.

Race #9:   Picks:   8-1-4-5
