Joe’s Selections

Race #1    Picks:   1-5-3-8

Race #2    Picks:   4-1-2-5

Race #3    Picks:   6-7-4-5

Race #4    Picks:   5-6-4-2

In this $38,000 maiden special weight at about one mile on the turf #5 Heart of Savino (10-1) got carried wide on the far turn in last and lost any chance. With a better trip he could win at a price today.  #6 Jardani (7-2) seemed to like the turf in his first try on that surface. Not many others in here have had a decent run on turf, and he has a shot with this group. #4 Ten Twenty One (12-1) is taking the blinkers off and trainer Phil Schoenthal wins at a high percentage with maidens making their second start.  It would not be a shocker if this longshot scored today.  #2 Savage Sailor (9-2) is going from turf-dirt-turf. Trainer Graham Motion shows a positive ROI when his horses go from turf to dirt and this could be a good spot for this colt.

Race #5   Picks:    4-3-2-1

In this $8,000 starter allowance at 5 1/2 furlongs #4 King’s House (5-2) is a winner of two straight and you have to respect his early speed. He could be tough to catch if he gets a clear lead. We think he may wire this field. #3 John’s Promise (7-2) ran second to Kings House in last and should challenge again today. He has a shot. #2 Ellas My Love (9-2) has been running with this group of horses and fits well. A chance. #1 California Swing (8-1) won his last outing and was once a very fast race horse with $365,000 in lifetime winnings. One to watch.
