Joe’s Selections

Race #1    Picks:   1-4-5-3

Race #2    Picks:   1-4-2-3

Race #3    Picks:   6-3-2-5

Race #4    Picks:   6-7-4-2

In this starter/optional claiming race for fillies and mares at a mile and 70 yards. #6 All Good Times (2-1) looks like a lock today. She has been running with much better and only got in this race because she ran with $5,000 claimers very early in her career. This looks like an easy first-place paycheck for her. #7 Sweet Home Dixie (6-1) has also been competitive against much better and should be in the mix with this group.  #4 Mizzen Air (3-1) appears to be in very good form and should be competitive with these. Trainer Bruce Alexander is making his debut at Delaware this year and bringing the horse’s jockey with him. A chance. #2 Square Peg (10-1) stepped up in class and won going away at 35-1 in last running 9 Beyer points higher than her previous lifetime best. This form reversal seems like magic to us, but maybe the horse ate her Wheaties in the morning. If she runs like that again she will be competitive.

Race #5   Picks:    1-10-5-4

Race #6    Picks:   6-5-1-3

In this first level allowance/$15,000 optional claiming race for fillies and mares at six furlongs #6 Cause I Said (9-5) won last time despite having to alter her course in the stretch. She looks the best of this group and should win two in-a-row. #5 Tap Dance Fever (5-2) has been running in allowance races and has the speed figures to be right with this group. She is taking the blinkers off which may improve her performance. #1 Congratsrosy (7-2) was caught in the stretch by Cause I said in last but still ran a game race. A chance. #3 Dulce Kiara (6-1) won her debut and could fire again. An outside chance.

Race #7   Picks:    13-6-3-9

Race #8   Picks:    1-2-4-3
