Joe’s Selections

  • Race 1: 5-3-2-7
  • Race 2: 1A-5-6-4
  • Race 3: 4-6-5-3
  • Race 4: 1-4-6-7
  • Race 5: 12-9-10-2
    • In this $16,000 claiming race at one mile on the turf for fillies and mares #12 Maliceinthepalace (6-1) almost scored at this level in June. This closer will be running late and if she can get a slightly better break, she could get the money today at a price.  #9 Better With Age (3-1) has been running against better at Belmont and Oaklawn. She has not had much success in her four-year-old season but this class drop may be just what she needs and she looks dangerous today. #10 Talks in Her Sleep (5-1) is another runner who has been competitive at this level at Delaware. If she runs her best she has a shot today.  #2 Mahkato (4-1) is a Pimilico shipper who has been very competitive at this level.  She has a shot in this very competitive race.
  • Race 6: 7-6-1-2
  • Race 7: 3-8-6-2
    • In this $40,000 allowance race at one mile and 70 yards on the turf we are going to take a shot with a longshot. #3 Centerfoldprospect (10-1) has speed figures as good as any horses in this race and he likes the Delaware turf. If he goes off anywhere his morning line odds he will be an overlay. #8 Trouble Coffee (4-1) won at this distance two back.  He has respectable speed figures in several races. If he runs one of those races back he will be in the mix today. #6 I Am That I Am (10-1) had some late run in last after starting slowly. He has a shot if he gets a better start. #2 Indoctrinate (2-1} is a New York shipper who should be competitive with these if he runs his normal race.
  • Race 8: 2-6-5-7
