Joe’s Selections

  • Race 1: 6-3-4-5
    • In this $5,000 starter allowance. #6 Always Talking (2-1) is coming from Parx where she has been racing well. She has early speed and has been competitive against better. This filly should handle this field. #3 Mambo Dancer (8-1) ran fairly well in her last in a race that had fast fractions. She only needs to improve slightly to win today and her competition is not very stiff in this event. She has a shot if she can improve. #4 Jeanie’s Angel (3-1) has won two of her last three including an impressive victory at Parx against $10,000 claimers in last. She has a shot today. #5 La Purissima (6-1) is one of the speed horses in this field. She ran a 66 figure last time and may be rounding into form.
  • Race 2: 3-4-1-7
  • Race 3: 6-1-3-4
  • Race 4: 1-8-3-4
    • In $25,000 maiden claiming race at 6 furlongs #1 Imagine Hongkong (15-1) looked like he need the last after three-month layoff. He showed some late kick and is adding blinkers. He should improve off that race and may run a big race today. Jockey Eduviel Ignacio has the bug and the weight advantage may help also. We have him on top. #8 Souper Emperor (2-1) is taking a big class drop and has been working very well at Monmouth. He looks very dangerous in this spot. #3 Big Daddy Buzz (4-1) ran a decent race at this level in last. Scott Lake is only winning at 10% clip so far at this meet but he has shown he can get hot in a hurry. #4 Tapifly (10-1) ran well in a maiden special weight race last time and is now moving back to the claiming ranks. He could get a piece of the exotics.
  • Race 5: 7-5-1-11
  • Race 6: 8-6-3-2
  • Race 7: 10-1-2-3
  • Race 8: 5-7-2-6
