Joe’s Selections

  • Race 1: 4-6-2-5
  • Race 2: 5-1-2-7
  • Race 3: 1-6-3-5
  • Race 4: 8-10-5-9
  • Race 5: 1-6-3-5
  • Race 6: 1-4-8-7
    • In this $10,000 claiming race at a mile and 70 years for non-winners of four lifetime, #1 Team Effort (7-2) ran a good race last out when the race was moved to the dirt. Douglas Nunn is shipping him from Monmouth into a $10,000 claiming race and this spot looks right for him.  #4 Flight Risk (5-2) is dropping in class and Jamie Ness usually drops to win.  He has respectable speed figures and he looks dangerous in this spot. #8 Greek Prince (9-2) won his last in a non-winners of three race, now moving up to non-winners of four. He has enough speed to be competitive with these. A possibility. #7 Mo Zone (6-1) has some back class and may have an impact on this race.
  • Race 7: 3-8-12-9
    • In this starter/ optional claiming race at one mile and 70 yards on the turf, #3 Summer Palace (5-2) has been running well in Kentucky and Louisiana. He is a very consistent horse who never has a bad race and has a great chance against this group. #8 Ride Em (5-1) ran a strong race in his first try on the turf in last. He raced very greenly and lost the lead when he went wide.  That experience should help him today. #12 Striking It Lucky (10-1) has run some good races on the turf. If he gives one of his better efforts today he will be right in the mix. #9 Vikram (6-1) won in his debut despite the race being moved to dirt. Now going on the turf and he looks primed for a good race today. One to consider.
  • Race 8: 2-3-7-1
