Race 62-1-4-6In this six-furlong $42,000 allowance race for fillies and mares three and up which have never won three races, #2 Deco Strong (7-2) qualifies as a horse for the course. In five lifetime starts at Delaware she has two wins and three second place finishes. The race at Charles Town was a good prep for her after a six-month layoff. She has a solid workout pattern and looks strong today… Trainer Mario Dominguez is bringing his first runner to Delaware of the meet with #1 Glory Dia (9-5). This filly ran a huge 93 figure at Parx on April 19 before a flat effort on the turf at Belmont. Now she is returning to her preferred surface. She can still win today without repeating her lifetime best 93 figure… #4 Tutti Benvenuti (5-2) has two wins, a second, and a third in four lifetime starts. She is a consistent runner who likes to run close to the lead. She has a good shot today… #6 Whiskey and Rye (8-1) has faced tough competition in Maryland. If she fires, she could be in the mix.
Race 710-2-1-11In this second-level allowance/optional claimer at 1 1/8 miles on the turf, #10 Angelus Warrior (3-1) lost some ground when he had to swing wide in last. With a better trip, he would have had a good chance at winning. If he gets a clear path today, he should be able to beat this group…  #2 Pretty Good Year (8-1) got off to a very poor start in last but closed late on several others in today’s race. He looked like he wanted more distance, which he will be getting today. If he gets a better break, he may pass the others in the final sixteenth mile… #1 Big Beautiful Wall (10-1) is dropping in class today and has been facing tougher horses at Churchill Downs and Keeneland. He has run some good races on the turf, and if he can match those he will vie for the top spot today… #11 Artemus Bridge (3-1) was competitive against some other horses in the race last time out and should be considered.
