Race 21A-3-2-4In this allowance/65K optional claiming race at one mile on the dirt, leading trainer Jamie Ness has an entry. One half of the entry #1A Shane’s Jewel (7-2) is a consistent runner who has won two of his last three. He will try to go gate to wire and there isn’t a lot of early speed in here to keep him honest… The Fletcher-trained #3 Spinoff (9-5) has the class and speed to dominate these. However, he has not run since September and may be using this race as a prep for more lucrative opportunities at Belmont and Saratoga. Dangerous if he is ready and trying to win… #2 Golden Brown (5-2) came back from a six-month layoff to run second in a stakes race at Monmouth. He has the class to be competitive here, but his trainer Pat McBurney only has one win out of 36 tries in 2021… #4 Tappin Cat (8-1) usually runs well when he stretches out to a mile or over where he has enough speed to get close to the lead. Could find his way into the exotics.
Race 65-6-3-4#5 Forloveofcountry (8-5) is making his Delaware Park debut for leading trainer Jamie Ness. He looks very tough in this second-level allowance/optional claiming race. This winner of three straight has run two 91 speed figures in a row at Parx. If he runs those back he will be hard to beat today… #6 Apostle (3-1) is coming back after a six-month layoff following running second in a Grade 3 stakes race a Gulfstream. Trainer Brittany Russell is good with horses following a layoff and this horse has been working well. This horse looks dangerous today… #3 Silent Malice (6-1) will be running late and looking to pass tiring horses. If a speed duel develops, he could be there at the end//. #4 Jeopardy James (4-1) ran two very good races at Delaware Park last year and seems to love this track.
Race 77-6-3-13#7 Jag (15-1) ran some very good races last year, and he many have needed his last, where he showed some early speed and faded. If he gets back to last year’s form he could win at a big price… #6 El Pillo (5-1) has run well at Gulfstream Park and is getting some class relief today. He is very capable of winning this race if he repeats his last… #3 Pawnbroker (9-2) closed well last time and seemed to like the Delaware turf.  One to consider… #13 Rohrbacher (7-2) has only run one race in the last 18 months, but if he can return to his form of 2019 he has a shot with this group.
