Carryovers: Pick 5, $23,851

Race 67-1-5-6In this $20,000 claiming race on the dirt at 6F, there isn’t a ton of early speed. That favors #7 In the Loop (9-5) who has by far the best early foot. He may have been in over his head on April 29 when he ran in an optional 50K claiming race at Pimlico, but now he is dropping down to a level where he has been dominant in the past… #5 Oxide (5-2) pressed the early pace in his last before fading the stretch in a race that set up for closers. He will be stalking the pace again in a race where he will face less talent than he did in his last at Pimlico… If #1Kid d’ Oro (7-2), who is half of a Jamie Ness-trained entry, goes in this race, he will be a threat.  If the early speed horses falter, he will be running late pick up the pieces… #6 Harper (10-1) has run some good races in his career and will be in the mix if he runs like he has in the past.
Race 713-12-7-5In this second allowance/optional claiming race on the turf at 1/16 miles, #13 Sandy Lane Kitten (10-1) has been off Since October, but trainer Richard Hendricks brought him back from a six-month layoff last year and he ran well. He had some big efforts at Delaware last year and is definitely a horse for the course… #12 Shendam (Fr) (6-1) is always game and ran some nice races down in Florida this year. One to consider… Mary Eppler can bring her horses back ready from a layoff and #7 Heza Kitten (8-1) ran some good races last year. He could be dangerous if he fires… Last year’s Maryland Million Turf winner #5 Pretty Good Year (4-1) makes his seasonal bow here for a barn that’s picking up steam. Top pilot Carol Cedeno a plus…
Race 85-4-3-1In this first-level allowance at 1mile 70 yards on the dirt #5 All Good Times (5-2) looks to have a good chance. He ran some strong races at Delaware last year and has good speed figures. His experience over the track may give him a big advantage… #4 Psychic Ability (9-5) ran a good 85 figure last time at Tampa. However, that was at 7F, and he has not shown he can run a mile on the dirt. If he can handle the distance he will be dangerous… #3 Tap Dance Fever (7-2) ran a good race in breaking his maiden back in December. Now back on the dirt after trying the Turf in April. He could be primed for a big run… #1 Atlantic Princess (6-1) has run some good races and will be in the exotics if he runs his best.
