Parx Racing has a 10-race card this afternoon, and Joe Parisi is on board to handicap. Post time is 12:55 p.m. Good luck!

Carryovers: None

Note: Joe likes multi-race wagers, so horses in these may be considered for doubles and Pick 3s, in particular.

RACE 1

  • #1 Starling Prince (5-2): Coming back after six month layoff but has a nice workout line including a strong 5F work on 13 March.
  • #6 J Wass (5-1): Lake bringing him back only 7 days after the claim. He has done well under this scenario and this horse usually puts in a game effort.
  • #2 Chub On Da Run (3-1): Has the speed figures to be in the mix at this level.
  • PICK 4 WAGER (the following wagers are meant to cover a range of possibilities while putting more money behind those considered most likely):
    • $2 P4: 1/4/5/6
    • $1 P4: 2,6/4/5/6,    1/2,5/5/6,    1/4/3,6/6,     1/4/5/2,5
    • $0.50 P4:  2,6/2,5/5/6    2,6/4/3,6/6     2,6/4/5/2,5     1/2,5/3,6/6     1/2,5/5/2,5     1/4/3,6/2,5
    • Total: $22

RACE 2

  • #4 Carmeltini (9-5): Closer has a shot if the race breaks down in front of her.
  • #5 Mineshaft Magic (8-5): Unproven filly must be given a good chance based on drop down and level of competition.
  • #2 Running Girl (8-1): Early speed gives this filly a chance if she gets loose on the lead.

RACE 3

  • #5 Printer (2-1): Has been knocking on the door. Multiple trainers believe he is worth having in their barn.
  • #6 Arrivederci (6-1): Has the speed figures to be competitive at 5000 N1Y.
  • #3 Algorix (3-1): Often figures into the Trifecta but seldom wins.

RACE 4

  • #6 Crick (6-5): Drops to lowest level of career after a competitive race at Md 20,000 last time.
  • #5 Almost Evil (7-2): Only one with any early speed in the races makes her a possibility.
  • #2 Visiting Angel (12-1): Ran a couple decent races last year. If she gets a good break she could be a threat.

RACE 5

  • #1 Volodina (2-1): Won last three convincingly and could make it four with her early speed.
  • #4 Penance (7-2): Didn’t like the slop on 23 Feb.  Bad break last time out. If she does not win today, she will be out of excuses.
  • #2 Galileo’s Affair (9-2): Catalano good on first after claim and this horse will be running late if the speed breaks down.

RACE 6

  • #2 Always Talking (8-5): Early speed and competitive against better. This filly should handle this field.
  • 1A Bayleaf (5-2): Winner of two in a row. Linder’s horses can go on winning streaks and she should be in the trifecta at worst.
  • #5 Knock Out Kid (12-1):  Dull lately but won at this level in November.

RACE 7

  • #6 Aleda Lutz (5-1): Lone speed has a pace advantage against these plodders.
  • #5 Congrats Answer (8-5): Dropping down and speed figures put this filly in contention for the win.
  • #3 Our Flirtation (4-1): Second try at lowest level of career. Drop may very well be what he needs to win.
  • PICK 4 WAGER (the following wagers are meant to cover a range of possibilities while putting more money behind those considered most likely):
    • $2 P4:  6/2/8/4
    • $1 P4:  3,5/2/8/4     6/3,6/8/4     6/2/1,4/4    6/2/8/3,8
    • $0.50 P3:  3,5/3,6/8/4     3,5/2/1,4/4    3,5/2/8/3,8     6/3,6/1,4/4     6/3,6/8/3,8     6/2/1,4/3,8
    • Total: $22

RACE 8

  • 2X Powwa of Love (7-2): By Uptowncharlybrown, whose get have a decent record in early starts.
  • #6 Solid Gold Dancer (8-1): Blinkers on and dropping down may lead to a score.
  • #3 Hey Dewzpots (9-2): Decent runs in last two and can win with a small improvement

RACE 9

  • #8 Union Rally (6-1): Raced wide last time and should win with a better trip.
  • #1A Aegean Sea (3-1): Had trouble last two races but can win if reverts to form.
  • #4 Miraculousblessing (4-1): Speed figures make this gelding competitive in this field.

RACE 10

  • #4 E J’s Revenge (6-1): Dropping down to Clm 5000 N2Y should put him a position to outlast these.
  • #3 Bob’s My Uncle (7-2): Dropping down to the Clm 5000 level. This 9-year-old still has some gas in the tank.
  • #8 Wushu Warrior (3-1): In good form.  Has a shot at winning two in a row.
