PARX RACING CANCELS TUESDAY CARD
Parx Racing has canceled its Tuesday card, marking the fifth consecutive lost racing day for the Bensalem, PA track.
- Stakes winner Clubman set for Friday returnClubman, a multiple stakes winner of $464,000, will make his first start since last October’s Pimlico Special Friday at Laurel Park.
The track lost all three of its scheduled racing days last week when a serious snow storm swept through the Mid-Atlantic region. The track did not race Monday because of frigid temperatures in the Philadelphia area.
The inclement weather has continued today. While the temperature is more moderate — though still below freezing — the area is experiencing “spotty areas of light freezing rain or drizzle.” Because the temperatures remain below freezing, that spotty rain will likely become patches of ice as time continues.
The track’s horsemen’s group, the Pennsylvania Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association, was the first to announce the cancellation, on Twitter. The track’s racing office confirmed today’s closure.
