PARX RACING CANCELS JULY 20 CARD
Parx Racing will join Delaware Park as the two Midlantic tracks to cancel their July 20 cards.
The Monday forecast calls for a high temperature of 97 degrees, and the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning, which is in effect until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, because of “dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 109.” The warning applies to the corridor from Wilmington, DE, to Philadelphia and east to Trenton, NJ.
The cancellation will mark the track’s third weather-related shutdown of 2020. It also canceled its cards on January 18 and January 20 because of winter weather.
