Parx has an 11-race card on tap for this Tuesday afternoon. Post time for the opener is 12:55 p.m., and we’ve got a couple horses to watch and Parx Racing picks.

We also have a play in a late Pick 3, which starts in the fifth race (post time 2:43).

HORSES TO WATCH

RACE 7 – MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT

  • Three-year-old #3 Double Doink (3-1) is a Ghostzapper filly out of the stakes-winning Petionville mare Villette. Her first two starts are middling, though her last, a third-place finish behind a $175,000 Tiznow filly, might be better than it looks. A $150,000 auction purchase, this miss has been training well enough for a trainer, John Servis, who can get them ready to win first time off the bench.
  • The most likely winner here might be the 1A Ice Diamond (9-5, part of entry), who arrives after a third-place finish at Delaware behind two super-well-bred rivals in Be Present, a $400,000 Bernardini filly, and Allende, who’s out of the Hall of Famer Ashado. Ice Diamond doesn’t figure to see any of those in here.

RACE NUMBERHORSESCOMMENTS
Race 54, 5, 6, 9The Claudio Gonzalez-trained #4 Atlantic Avenue (3-1) makes her third start since the break and arrives following a win… #6 Elissas Secret (20-1) generally has been going the wrong way but has better efforts on the page and may benefit from the four-month break… Look for jockey Silvera to put #9 Skookie (2-1) on the lead early; if she gets there, she can be tough, but if not – well, you’ll know pretty quickly with this one…
Race 64, 5, 6It’s quite possible the post-time favorite might end up being #3 My Best Friend (5-2), who’s second choice on the morning line; but this runner’s been away since January ’19, a space of 18 months, and will offer no value. If she returns as the filly she was, she’s a major player here. If not, well, not. We left her off the ticket in favor of a trio of horses to her outside… A.m. favorite #4 Come and Get It (2-1) gets Lasix for the first time and goes out for the first time for trainer Ness… We’re inclined to think the Beyers for #5 Up Just in Time (6-1) might be a bit lighter than they ought to be; a couple of the horses she’s competed with aren’t bad at all… Not sure what to make of that last from #6 Will Take Over (4-1), but we’ll draw a line through it and give her one more crack; good to see jockey Bisono remain aboard…
