* Laurel Park on Saturday there is just one race (7th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs is for Partly Cloudy skies with unseasonably warm temps in the upper-60’s and just a slight chance of precipitation. The below selections are based on the 7th race remaining ON THE TURF listed as “Good” and main track condition to be listed as “Fast.”

Race 1

  1. #1 – Kool Kat Strut (7-2): Chirinos lands here, jumps off #4 & #8; has top Prime Power#
  2. #5 – Navy Blue (3-1): Hunch play of the day w/ Army-Navy game today;
  3. #3 – Montana Storm (6-1): Has a shot on drop from $10k and if Boyce takes him back early

Race 2

  1. #6 – Silver Legend (7-5): Why even try to look elsewhere as Ness is 36% w/ 1st after claim angle
  2. #7 – Dixie Deputy (9-2): Away since winning here on Oct. 16th for $5kb; loves Lrl (5:3-2-0)
  3. #3 – Parseghian (15-1): Been over his head & out of element since being claimed out of winning effort v. N4L at this level 3 races back

Race 3

  1. #3 – He’s a Slam Dunk (7-2): Away since Jan., hopefully to curse “2nd-itis” (7:1-5-0); nice work tab
  2. #4 – V. I. Dancer (2-1): Got monster Brisnet# (98) in breaking maiden @ Pen in 7th career start
  3. #2 – Daily News (8-1): Read all about it! This one needed time off since Aug.; being offered in this OC$25k raises the caution flag though

Race 4

  1. #8– Throwback (9-2): *Best Bet* Could be rounding back into form based on nice win off layoff; not much in here wants to win… on dirt
  2. #13 – Untethered (12-1): Should no problem getting early lead; if he’s on top in 50 & change, just might steal it
  3. #9 – Lunar Rock (5-2): Went bad quick, hence Keefe dropping him like a sack of potatoes from $32k to $5k makes one wonder; the carrot is dangling, but will anyone take the bait?

Race 5

  1. #6 –No Its Not (4-1): Failed as favorite when too keen on the lead; was runner-up in only 7f effort
  2. #7 – Phineus (10-1): Cut back in distance could prove to be a wise move; rare Serpa/Magee combo are 2 for 2
  3. #8 – Curlin’s Kid (5-2): Been the PT favorite in past 5 outings but only 2 wins; might get caught up in running w/ early speed

Race 6

  1. #10 – Antebullum (5-1): Morley ships in from Big A; Birdstone filly needs an alert start
  2. #7 – Head Games (8-1): Both dirt tries here earned her nice Brisnet#’s if not placings
  3. #2 – It’s the Truth (7-2): 1 of 2 FTSs for G. Motion; based on work tab, this one better of the 2

* Race 7

  1. #6 – Roxbury Rocket (6-1): $Longshot Play$ Deep Closer gets perfect setup w/ field filled w/ early speed
  2. #3 – Star Black (4-1): Step up in class didn’t go well last outing; fits with these
  3. #2 – Seeyouinthetown (12-1): Has faced better on the turf but does best work at this level

Race 8

  1. #3 – Liatris (3-5): Away Spring of ‘14 @ Pim as a FTS EXPLODED in mid-stretch to blow past the 7-5 PT favorite…it was a WOW moment!!!
  2. #4 – Sweet Fortune (9-2): Chased a super filly (Exaggerated) in lone dirt effort 2 back
  3. #2 – Tiz Emily and Jill (6-1): Short field lacks legit early speed except for this gal who could steal it

Race 9

  1. #5 – Afleet Willy (3-1): Has turned in the quickest early speed fraction; owns highest Brisnet#
  2. #10 – Search Warrant (10-1): Career debut was a bust on turf, could pull a shocker as lone MSW dropper
  3. #11 – Over Saver (12-1): FTS by Super Saver would appreciate some moisture; D. Capuano 21% w/ debut Claimers
