* Laurel Park on Sunday there is one race (7th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs is for Mostly Sunny skies with high temps in the mid-50’s and a zero chance of precipitation. The below selections are based on that race remaining ON THE TURF listed as “Soft” and main track condition to be listed as “Fast”.

Race 1

  1. #5 – Destination Love (1-1): Running lines v. her rivals in here suggest it’s Graduation Day
  2. #3 – Paddy O’Kay (9-2): Bred for turf but didn’t show it in MSW debut; switches to dirt and drops
  3. #2/2X – Grinning Girl/Regal Treasure (5-1): Prefer #2X as she at least showed “late run” at this level @ Pen; added distance should help

Race 2

  1. #1 – Great Smoke (5-2): Fresh off maiden score, can catch leg-weary speed in deep stretch
  2. #7 – Diamondback Fire (8-1): Morning Line seems generous; handled step up in class to be runner-up after debut win
  3. #6 – King of Versailles (10-1): Like the cut back in distance after showing early speed going a mile

Race 3

  1. #8 – Giant Crystal (9-5): Motion trainee away since Feb. makes dirt debut; string of works concluded w/ two bullets
  2. #7 – Louise’s Legacy (12-1): Took Summer off to regroup; will try to go gate-to-wire
  3. #2 – Rose Essence (4-1): Has performed better on grass, but turf-to-dirt angle could be key today

Race 4

  1. #6– Secret Garden (3-1): Sprinted to a 12 length lead at 1st call going 1 mile then (obviously) tired; nice setup for this sprint
  2. #3 – Supsa (5-2): Scratched yesterday as stablemate scored at 9-1 for same condition going one mile; sprint here fits her better
  3. #5 – Dreaming of Bella (2-1): She’ll need to turn back plenty of early speed in here to prevail

Race 5

  1. #5 –Scent of Gold (10-1): $Longshot Play$ Showed amazing improvement to break maiden when blinkers were added v. lowest level at Del; last drill was a bullet
  2. #10 – Heavenly Encore (6-1): Trying to find class level; she has the look of a sprinter; recent one mile efforts may have helped w/ stamina
  3. #1 – Little Kitten (5-1): Exits 2 turf sprint (she’s NOT by Kitten’s Joy); only previous try v. similar on dirt resulted in runner-up effort

Race 6

  1. #4 – Better Way (5-1): Toss turf outings & she has tons of upside; can handle step up here
  2. #7 – Imwiththeblonde (2-1): Couldn’t cut it in SoCal but looks the best here via Prime Power#
  3. #2 – Justlookatmeknow (7-2): With turf season coming to an end, she makes dirt debut in 8th career start; Eppler is 25% 2nd after claim angle

* Race 7

  1. #8 – Silent Critic (4-1): *Best Bet* Held his own on Aqu turf v. N3L (this is for N2L); has always given an honest effort on turf
  2. #1 – Rumblin Kyle (10-1): Wanted turf on 2 other occasions but washed off; dam is by super grass sire More Than Ready
  3. #2 – Magnum Opus (8-1): A bit short on turf speed figure but is moving in the right direction; 1st try going two-turns

Race 8

  1. #4 – Western Conqueror (9-2): Makes 5th career start at 5th different track; running lines not impressive but speed figures are best in here
  2. #2 – Warleigh (3-1): Took a weak field of $35k Claimers gate-to-wire; will be pressed on the lead here
  3. #8 – Take Achance On Me (6-1): That’s exactly what we’re doing as speed figures keep improving during sophomore campaign

Race 9

  1. #3 – Ms Micromanagement (2-1): Gets break in shorter distance which should be the formula for breaking maiden here
  2. #9 – Bella Yolanda (5-1): $25k claim hasn’t worked out for Gonzalez; no response when adding Lasix; offered for $7k coming off nearly 3 month layoff
  3. #6 – Maestra Brava (9-5): Guessing game w/ Trombetta on steep drop (32%) after just 2 starts, both on turf; might be “cutting bait” as turf season comes to a close
