[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park on Wednesday has five (5) races (1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 8th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs is for Mostly Cloudy skies with high temps in the low-60s and just a 10% chance of precipitation, but since late Monday and throughout Tuesday the area received quite a bit of rain. Therefore, races have been taken OFF THE TURF and the main dirt track will likely be listed as SLOPPY/GOOD early in the card and upgraded to FAST later in the card. These selections were made prior to scratches.

* Race 1  —  OFF THE TURF

  1. #11 – Mack the Knife (8-1): MTO entry didn’t care for the Lrl lawn in 1st start in 4 months
  2. #10 – Super Causeway (10-1): Should do well on an “Off Track” solely based on bloodlines
  3. #7 – Kopper Wired (7-2): Runner-up to next out winner 2 back in the slop; gate-2-wire threat

Race 2

  1. #4 – Cold (5-1): Adds Blinkers 2nd start after promising late run in debut when green
  2. #5 – Tale of E Dubai (5-2): Away since debut @ Pim in Apr. as PT fav.; time off to mature?
  3. #7 – Snowfly (6-1): Pino only entry on card; does well w/ FTS (29%)

* Race 3  —  OFF THE TURF

  1. #7 – Mr. Roessink (5-1): MTO entry ran “better than it looks on paper” on turf in 1st start for Bernardini
  2. #11 – Capital Fellow (12-1): Cannot deny “Off Track” record (4: 1-2-1) in spite of being just 1 for 9 @ Lrl
  3. #3 – Concealed Identity (20-1): Best Brisnet# came on an “Off Track”… about 4 years ago; Cartagena may have found a bit of his old form

* Race 4  —  OFF THE TURF

  1. #9 – Look Who’s Talking (5-2): *Best Bet* Turf or not, she held her own against multiple BC juvenile runners in both the G3 Miss Grillo and Selima
  2. #4 – Flash McCaul (4-1): MTO entry ran monster debut followed by runner-up effort in MD Nursery
  3. #7 – Captain Alex (12-1): Has defied modest bloodlines accomplishments by exhibiting a big heart and willingness to compete at any level

Race 5

  1. #9 – McKenzies Way (8-5): Typical Jacobson maneuver, claim back for cheap & run back for less
  2. #6 – Silver Legend (5-1): Has the early speed and fondness for an off going to steal it on front end
  3. #2 – Seeker (9-2): Won v. similar 1st off the Ness claim as 9-5 fav., so why 9-2 in here?

* Race 6  —  OFF THE TURF

  1. #1– Malibu Honey (7-2): Interesting how Russell lands here instead of on #9; drop makes her a threat on main track
  2. #12 – Chica Fabulosa (9-2): Though switch to turf has shown promise, lone win came on dirt oval
  3. #2 – Nancy’s Gone Wild (10-1): Should be in the mix on the drop against depleted group of runners hoping for turf

Race 7

  1. #6 – American Soldier (5-1): The ultimate Hunch Play today – Be sure to thank a Veteran today!
  2. #3 – Golden Glint (6-1): Faced N2x and N3x in his past few races; Eppler doing nice job w/ him since claim
  3. #7 – Classic Brew (12-1): Closer should get a perfect setup with an abundance of early speed in here going long

* Race 8  —  OFF THE TURF

  1. #5 – Pret Say Eye (12-1): $Longshot Play$ Has talent on both turf & dirt; overlooked due to bad racing luck
  2. #15 – Pop of Color (10-1): Should get in off AE; will try to repeat a gate-to-wire score
  3. #11 – Passion Police (15-1): Has nice late kick to run down whatever speed may be left in this “Off the Turf” event

Race 9

  1. #13– With Wonder (7-2): Ran well against tougher but not enough late; rising Brisnet#s indicate she’s fit
  2. #6 – Princess Emma Rose (5-1): In Exacta 5 of 10 starts; in over her head in last; was PT fav. v. similar 3 back when runner-up
  3. #9 – Mast Cove (9-2): Connections place her back where she belongs as her victories in N2L & N3L came at this level
