[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park on Saturday has six (6) races (1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs is for Mostly Cloudy skies with high temps in the mid-60s and 50% chance of “a bit of rain in the A.M.”. The below selections are based on the TURF being “Good” and a “Fast” main dirt track.

* Race 1

  1. #8 – Minor Legend (9-2): Fresh off MSW win on the turf, can come right back v. this group of N2L
  2. #1A – Barter (10-1): Two nice lifetime races, both on turf & 2-turns for connections who specialize in grass runners
  3. #6 – Wolftrap (4-1): Starting to question will to win but is always in the mix down the lane; might catch a break

Race 2

  1. #9 – Cowtown Brown (2-1): 7f was a bit too far for this sprinter whose usually well backed at the windows
  2. #1 – Follow the Kitten (6-1): Trombetta may have claimed a rare Kitten’s Joy who runs better on dirt than grass
  3. #5 – Oh Deann (5-1): Takes 2nd consecutive step up since claim; tall order but could take advantage of tiring speed

* Race 3

  1. #8 – Sugimoto (3-1): *Best Bet* A length behind M/L fav. (#7) in here in turf debut off 10 month layoff; Adds blinkers
  2. #7 – Greg Rules (9-5): Lost head bob last outing as 8-5 fav.; 3rd 2 back as 4-5 fav.; 3rd time (as fav.) is a charm?
  3. #11 – Victory Slide (15-1): AE* Appears to have gotten some stamina builders showing speed going 1 mile the past 2 * If AE doesn’t get in use #9 – Henry Hayes (12-1): Turf debut in 4th career start; away since Jan.; “Special K” rides

Race 4

  1. #3 – Kool Kat Strut (7-2): Eligible due to being in for the Tag; ; cuts back; earned best Brisnet# at this distance
  2. #8 – Zillions (3-1): If the #6 gets off slow again, Boyce might steal it on front end to make it a riding Hat Trick on him
  3. #6 – The Pulse (2-1): Better check for his! Stopped as PT fav. in $35k @ Sar then dropped to $7.5k, 3rd as 1-5 fav. here

* Race 5

  1. #6 – Afternoon (4-1): Two uninspiring outings going long on the grass; made debut @ Sar; recent drills were bullets
  2. #3 – Cape Azul (15-1): Toss dirt race and got education sprinting on Lrl lawn in debut; bred to go long on the grass
  3. #13 – Merci Beaucoup (12-1): Thank me AFTER the race… in the Winners’ Circle… let’s hope! 2-turns & grass = wheelhouse

* Race 6

  1. #10 – Emelina (2-1): Romped v. much of the same talent level in most recent outing
  2. #4 – Addy’s Eyes (12-1): Failed as PT fav. at this level when claimed by McMahon; gets Russell in irons
  3. #2 – Git ‘er Dun Kirk (20-1): Has competed in last 3 at higher class levels; have faith in Lauralea

Race 7

  1. #2 – Curlin’s Kid (6-5): Made Daddy proud at this rock bottom level last time; same effort gets same result
  2. #11 – Majestic Number (10-1): Away since MD State Fair meet; likes Lrl (3:1-0-1) and distance (2:1-1-0)
  3. #13 – Peppermint Prince (15-1): His Brisnet#’s have been on the rise; can handle stretch out to 7f

* Race 8

  1. #5 – John Jones (8-1): $Longshot Play$ Fresh off maiden score; will try to take this field gate-to-wire
  2. #3 – Pirate’s Cove (15-1): 1st off layoff turf sprint served as a prep for today
  3. #12 – C’Mon Boys (5-1): Goldberg runners have been “live” entire meet (13:4-3-3)

* Race 9

  1. #3 – Captain Gaughen (7-2): NY shipper cuts back in distance; Brisnet#s yo-yo… time for an “up”
  2. #10 – Beantown Saint (9-5): Trainer J. Servis in distance won w/ lone entry on Friday; speed will be challenged
  3. #6 – Rapid Dan (5-1): 0 for 3 on the turf but earned very good Brisnet# in one of them

Race 10

  1. #10 – Rapid Regan (1-1): Steep drop off Ness claim when running 3rd for $11k higher.
  2. #1 – Cadillac Rose (12-1): Is today the day 10lb. bug girl Francois breaks her Lrl meet maiden?
  3. #6 – O Reeley (4-1): 1 for 29 lifetime and has “2nd-itis” (8x 2nd) indicates what the others look like
