[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park on Friday has five (5) races (2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs is for Mostly Cloudy skies with near-record high temps in the mid-70s and just 10% chance of precipitation. The below selections are based on the TURF being “Firm” and a “Fast” main dirt track.

Race 1

  1. #9 – Daiquiri Lass (5-1): Couldn’t cut it in NY w/ Henning; drops in 1st time for Tag and 1st time Lasix
  2. #8 – Sky Burn (8-5): Has had better races on turf v. dirt but drops from MSW past 5 races; has top dirt fig
  3. #4 – Midnightsweetdream (15-1): With Street Cry in the sire line, like 1st time 2-turns & switch to Toledo

* Race 2

  1. #5 – Oak Bluffs (4-5): Must be end of turf season as there’s no other reason for such a precipitous class drop
  2. #3 – Skeleton Crew (6-1): 12 y.o. can still kick it into gear late; extra ½ furlong helps his chances
  3. #6 – Puturseatbelton (20-1): Beat #8 (9-2) twice here in Aug. on turf, same distance; needs pace help though

Race 3

  1. #2 – Boon Companion (5-2): Still a maiden after 4 starts but love the “gamely”, “Up late…” “willingly” comments
  2. #4 – Bookmaker (3-1): Love the work pattern for this FTS out of the Ness barn firing at 35% w/ Debut Mdn Claimers
  3. #8 – Tomo Chachi (8-1): FTS by Jump Start whose 2 y.o. have done well early on; Barr 29% w/ Debut Mdn Claimers

* Race 4

  1. #4 – Svindahl (4-1): Eligible due to being in for the Tag; ; cuts back; earned best Brisnet# at this distance
  2. #3 – Gator Boy (8-1): Tons of early speed signed up for this one gives Closer edge to catch in pace meltdown
  3. #1 – Magnum Opus (9-2): Fresh off maiden score can repeat v. this group; biggest obstacle is breaking from the rail

Race 5

  1. #9 – Fashion Hill (6-1): NY-bred FTS by Old Fashion has well-spaced, bullet works over Lrl dirt oval
  2. #11 – Little Latin Lulu (10-1): Nice late run in muddy debut to be 2nd as winner came back to win MD Million Juvenile
  3. #8 – Elusive Joni (8-5): Never knows what stall to lay down his head, been claimed past 6 races

* Race 6

  1. #4 – Dancing Heiress (15-1): $Longshot Play$ Tossed Clunker when wheeled back in 9 days; runs best off at least 4 week layoff
  2. #10 – Hasty Miss (7-2): Failed as PT fav. at this level when claimed by McMahon; gets Russell in irons
  3. #11 – Star Black (4-1): Has had more excuses recently than Carter has Little Liver Pills; keep thinking she gets a clean trip one of these times

* Race 7

  1. #2 – Papadopalous (10-1): Though results on grass don’t suggest it, Brisnet#’s indicate he’ll be in the mix
  2.  #4 – Legal Punch (20-1): Carrasco had multiple options yet landed here; 1 for 1 on turf, a maiden breaker
  3. #3 – Sam’s Sonic (6-1): Makes 1st start of 2015; could be prep for stretch out next time or legit try sprinting

* Race 8

  1. #10 – Rapid Rhythm (15-1): Not the cleanest of trips when 3½ behind Officer Buns (#2; 8-1)
  2. #12 – E Dubai’s Humor (9-2): Was among the best MD-bred 2 y.o. fillies last Fall; makes 3 y.o. & turf debut
  3. #13 – No Tunes O (4-1): Goldberg runner scored v. N1X here last outing when shipped in from NY

Race 9

  1. #2 – Onemorsaturdaynite (2-1): *Best Bet* Bridesmaid when clearly 2nd best in last two at this level; Pino/Toledo combo 38%
  2. #4 – Niigani Coyote (10-1): Promising 1st dirt effort in 4th career start; should benefit from cut back in distance
  3. #10 – Ebony Bird (3-1): Big class dropper has yet to hit the board in 8 races, 1st 7 were on grass; 2nd best Brisnet#
