[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park on Saturday has five (5) races (3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs is for Mostly Sunny skies with high temps near 60 and zero chance of precipitation. The below selections are based on the TURF being “Firm” and a “Fast” main dirt track.

******* HAPPY  HALLOWEEN *******

Race 1

  1. #6 – Visionary Wonder (6-1): Solid low-level Claimer drops back to company she can handle
  2. #3 – Her Royalship (10-1): At 1st look at PPs she’s a turfer, but she’s 0 for 8 there & 3 for 8 on dirt
  3. #5 – Briar Mojo (9-5): Robertson 29% 1st after Claim… plus this one is a “Claim Back”

Race 2

  1. #8 – Literary Lady (1-1): Ness claimed her 3 back; competitive v. better, just trying to get 2nd “W” here
  2. #2 – Iflookscouldkill (7-2): Have to look past recent off track & turf races for why she’s a threat
  3. #3 – Dream Brew (10-1): Have to respect a “House Horse” especially off maiden win (Lightbulb theory)

* Race 3

  1. #8 – Broad Moon (5-1): 5 y.o. owns just 3 wins from 29 career starts but all 3 at this distance on turf out of 9
  2. #4 – Bluegrass Fox Trot (10-1): Having faith that his synthetic track form converts to turf on step up
  3. #5 – Lightning Electric (8-1): 5th in recent troubled trip as the top 3 finishers are in here at lower odds

* Race 4

  1. #10 – Perfect Title (5-1): *Best Bet* Was in over his head in G1 last outing against horses running in BC Turf today
  2. #4 – St. Albans Boy (3-1): Owns black-type and comes off SHOW effort in G3 at Kee; over a year since last “W”
  3. #8 – Diana’s Vendetta (20-1): Seems outclassed but didn’t have clean trip in this event last year when 6 behind winner

Race 5

  1. #2 – Roman Magic (7-5): Call it a “best of a poor lot” selection as many in this group of N2L may never win again
  2. #9 – Sweet Visionary (5-1): This is where he’s competitive; jock switch may help after 4th & 3rd after claim
  3. #7 – Vision of Green (5-2): Adds blinkers and drops 2 classes to Lrl bottom level; broke maiden for $25k in Mar.

* Race 6

  1. #6 – Decisive Triumph (6-1): FTS by super turf sire Kitten’s Joy cost $220k; Motion 14% w/ these types
  2. #9 – He’s a Dandy Candy (5-1): Has turf in bloodlines and fired bullets on AP synthetic prior to dirt debut @ Mth
  3. #7 – Cherokee Cousin (5-1): After trouble filled trips in last two, jock switch was in order; diploma is w/in reach

* Race 7

  1. #13 – Splitter (6-1): Interesting that Karamanos takes this mount over #8 who he always rides
  2. #5 – Ebreeq (9-2): Maiden put in w/ N2L after claim, ran well then destroyed MCL$16k next/last outing
  3. #8 – La Reine’s Gem (8-1): Probably not wise to land here based on comment line for top pick above

Race 8

  1. #3 – Seeker (2-1): Ness 36% 1st race after Claim off while (not surprisingly) 42% when Drops too
  2. #7 – Q’s Jack (9-2): Tries 4th different distance in as many races after Potts Claim; grasping at straws?
  3. #2 – Show Me the Way (12-1): Free fall thru the Claiming ranks not encouraging, but Nik back on for Dad

* Race 9

  1. #2 – Captain’s Affair (8-1): $Longshot Play$ Been facing better yet not getting embarrassed; blame yielding turf for recent dull effort
  2. #4 – Blameshifter (20-1): Oldest yet strangest last race angle which makes no sense when looking for a winner… “Eased/Pulled Up”
  3. #7 – Slip and Drive (15-1): The Good: record at distance 8:2-3-1; The Bad: 0 for 7 last two years! Wondering now what I liked about this 7 y.o.?!

Race 10

  1. #6 – Gentle Johnny (7-5): Original “Best Bet” until M/L came out; I’ll never be called Capt. Obvious
  2. #5 – Lostinthestars (5-1): Responded to class drop when 1st time in for Tag, but distant 3rd when off 2-5
  3. #9 – Citation Star (9-5): Got better of the #5 in here last outing; may have hit the front too early
