[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park on Friday has four (4) races (2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs is for Mostly Sunny skies with high temps near 60 and just a 5% chance of precipitation. The below selections are based on the TURF being “Firm” and a “Fast” main dirt track.

Race 1

  1. #7 – Wilko Warrior (8-1): FTS by Wilko for barn who puts them over in debut for a tag (23%)
  2. #1 – Kind of Silver (4-1): Barn seems impatient or realistic w/ 2nd class drop for 3rd career start
  3. #2 – Saint Eddie (7-2): Robb does well w/ 2+ class droppers (35%) and when add blinkers (20%)

* Race 2

  1. #2 – Kadie’shorseplay (3-1): *Best Bet* Gets favorable pace scenario to pick off pace-setters in deep stretch
  2. #12 – Maestra Brava (7-2): Was well backed in debut (5-2) and just missed after dueling w/ rivals early
  3. #3 – Stormy Mistress (8-1): Drops back in for tag she was claimed for in July, when betting favorite

Race 3

  1. #4 – Sweet On Smokey (9-5): Deja’ vu as last 6f race was at this level and resulted in a “W”
  2. #3 – Gratzie (7-5): Had it all her way on the lead @ Del v. 4 others and still couldn’t hold lead
  3. #5 – Tanka (15-1): Has ability to compete with these, especially with likeliness of fast early fractions

* Race 4

  1. #9 – Learaig (10-1): $Longshot Play$ Rallied nicely along the rail then had nowhere to go at 1/16th pole last outing
  2. #6 – Rock Me Gently (9-2): Found his niche since moving to grass; McCarthy replaces BC-bound Lopez
  3. #2 – Spartianos (5-1): No reason to believe he cannot duplicate 1st off the bench effort

Race 5

  1. #5 – Salute to Bob (5-2): Steep class drop ($75k to $14k) and adds blinkers; not much to beat in here
  2. #7 – After the Cut Off (3-1): Can boast top Brisnet# earned in past two races; added distance should help
  3. #6 – Durkin (10-1): Failed as PT favorite w/ addition of blinkers; wheels right back w/ confidence

* Race 6

  1.   #8 – Grecian Prince (8-1): Should handle turf; a Virtual Stable play based on troubled trip in last race
  2.   #7 – Go Go Lucky (5-2): Broke maiden against NY-bred earning best Brisnet# number
  3. #10 – Steve’s Image (10-1): Lost rider in debut at start… on turf at Saratoga; finally returns to lawn in 4th start

Race 7

  1. #7 – Doherty (7-2): Faced better than these last outing; cut back in distance should help too
  2. #11 – Stone Crazy (10-1): Fresh off W. Potts claim, though 2 of 18 been ITM 12 times; has back class
  3. #6 – Rub the Rock (12-1): 1 of 2 in here w/ more than 2 wins; gets stalking trip w/ Pimentel back aboard

* Race 8

  1. #6 – Amizzen Grace (8-1): 1st time in this condition as she continues to get better; one mile might fit perfectly
  2. #4 – Bobbi Grace (5-2): Lookin’ for a “Grace” Exacta; Boyce spurns Keefe (#5) for this Proctor trainee
  3. #2 – Tela (4-1): 1 for 1 on the Lrl lawn; has a 2nd and 3rd only other time facing elders

Race 9

  1. #7 – Curlish Figure (9-5): Beaten favorite hurt by very wide trips last two; Carrasco gets the call
  2. #4 – Savvy Sassy (9-2): Popular angle comes into play here… Street Sense offspring 1st time 2-turns
  3. #1 – Understanding (12-1): Both career victories came at this distance; draw line thru turf effort in last

Race 10

  1. #9 – Jacoby J (5-1): Worthy on drop alone; both ITM efforts came at one level higher than today
  2. #1 – That’s Cool Man (6-1): Ambitiously placed in East Coast debut; can graduate v. these
  3. #11 – Mose Knows (10-1): This one appears destined for CT (bull ring) going 4½; needs clean break
