[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park on Saturday has five (5) races (3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs is for Partly Sunny skies with high temps in the low-60s and no chance of precipitation. The below selections are based on the TURF being “Firm” and a “Fast” main dirt track.

Race 1

  1. #5 – Slews Love (9-2): Been the most consistent maiden as far as Brisnet#’s; just missed when dropped to this level last outing
  2. #9 – Riding the Tide (6-1): Did nothing on drop when 5-2 w/ C. Evans; switches to Carrasco, who has high pct. (38%) for barn
  3. #2 – Not for Fun (20-1): Appeared he was close to being stopped v. “lacked room” at ¼ pole, dropped back then rallied a bit, may not have been that far behind top pick here in that one

Race 2

  1. #4 – Supermon (7-2): Should get a perfect stalking trip behind a bunch of early speed; needs to avoid wide trip
  2. #8 – Steve (4-1): Didn’t touch him when 1-2 on steep drop & won like a champ in slop; none of 3 wins on “Fast” track
  3. #2 – Alpha Dude (10-1): Won 1st after claim from Ness for small barn, w/ a 50-yr-old jock, on class jump… last time that happened 3 wise men came from the East; drops after the win yet 10-1?! Keith Feustle, ye of little faith

* Race 3

  1. #5 – Repartee (7-2): Gotta think McLaughlin (1st entry of meet) been waiting for a 9f turf for this gal
  2. #12AE – Marketplace (10-1): Beaten fav. in last two on turf & decent speed figs, has been running out of real estate
  3. #6 – Souper Social (12-1): 4 starts at 4 different tracks, once ITM… @ Pid; not what Live Oak expected for $575k; bred to run forever (check) and on turf (check)
    If the AE doesn’t get in, use… #3 – Trensita (4-1): Only runner in here who has competed at this distance or further

Race 4

  1. #6 – Rickster (9-2): Flashed speed going 1 mile of turf in debut; gelded for his efforts; nice works since
  2. #3 – Bullsboy (6-1): Shot out of a cannon in debut, never changed leads yet game thru lane (3rd); toss next out turf
  3. #7 – Afleet Willy (5-2): Early speed in both career starts (@ Del); runner-up to MD Million Nursery 4th place finisher

Race 5

  1. #7 – Cowtown Brown (9-5): Typical Magee progression, win off the claim on step up, then drop & win (33%)
  2. #8 – In Full Motion (12-1): Catch her if you can; all of a sudden she found her heart & runs on instead of quitting
  3. #4 – With Wonder (15-1): Late blooming mare is a runner; can handle step up but maybe not sudden speed bias

* Race 6

  1.  #3 – Daystrike (6-1): $Longshot Play$ Promising results since Dilodovico claim 3 back; should handle added distance
  2. #12AE – Pretty Nauty (15-1): Ness has taken time w/ this 4-yr-old that was runner-up on this course & at same distance a year ago; only needs one to scratch to get in
  3. #9 – Scrapple (20-1): Need head examined endorsing 2 for 37 runner, but 1 for 3 at distance; been unlucky when giving best effort; giving “Special K” a leg up can only help
    If the AE doesn’t get in, use… #6Mark On the Run (12-1): Monterrey in the irons gives best chance at upset

Race 7

  1. #2 – Tiz Alarming (6-1): Adds blinkers and switches to 7 lb. bug; needs to get this filly to the lead & just hold on
  2. #9 – Registrada (3-1): 2nd of two runners Rudy Rod ships from Big A; has recorded top Brisnet# in here
  3. #1 – Won Ton Soup (15-1): NY-bred FTS for outfit who does well debuting in MCL (24%); Mejias overcomes rail w/ speed

* Race 8

  1. #11 – Exaggerated (2-1): *Best Bet* Unblemished record put to the test here; should relish stretch out to two-turns
  2. #6 – Ginger N Rye (8-1): Traffic trouble in most recent turf try plus cut back to 1 mile results in a “W”
  3. #7 – Truly Mizzed (15-1): 3rd behind another turf monster (Onus) 2 back; rough trip in stretch last outing

Race 9

  1. #2 – Tuckers Point (9-2): Been on a major roll looking for 4th straight victory; never runs a bad race
  2. #9 – Golden Glint (15-1): It’s a guessing game whether he’s off form or not; never been out of Exacta @ Lrl
  3. #8 – Dinny Dinosaur (15-1): This Pen shipper could be dangerous if given a chance to set slow fractions

* Race 10

  1. #8 – Cut to Order (9-5): 5 of 8 on turf; 2 for 2 w/ Centeno; may not fool around & go straight to lead
  2. #2 – Vitium (8-1): Pid shipper been knocking on the door, improving on Brisnet# in past 4 races
  3. #1 – Mount Coronet (15-1): Beaten fav. @ Del going 7½f while gaining late; M/L seems generous

* Race 11

  1. #8 – Seaside Schiller (2-1): No match for best 2-yr-old filly grass runners @ Sar; wins here if she duplicates career debut
  2. #3 – Silver Majorette (3-1): Away since mid-Aug. when 3rd in turf debut in minor stakes @ Mth behind BC Juv Fillies Turf contender (Ruby Notion)
  3. #5 – Lovely Credit (6-1): Test turf for 1st time after coming alive on Pid all-weather surface, being quick from gate

Race 12

  1. #3 – Ski Bare (10-1): Wolfendale trainee dials back in distance after credible two-turn try, catches favorable pace scenario
  2. #5 – Belle Evon (5-2): SoCal transplant firing a.m. bullets for Stidham, makes local bow
  3. #4 – Saturday Blues (7-2): Clearance sale in progress on 6yo mare with just 11 races on the resume; drops from $14k level last out
