* Laurel Park has three (3) races (5th, 8th, 9th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs on Saturday is for Mostly Cloudy skies with high temps near 60 and just a 20% chance of showers, but the rain over the past week will certainly take these races OFF the TURF. Therefore, the below selections are based on those races being taken OFF the TURF and the main track condition being MUDDY.

Race 1

  1. #3 – Ski Bare (5-2): Second best as PT fav. in 1st after layoff; a stalking trip gets her 2nd career win
  2. #1 – Tiza Clever Won (6-1): Made furious late run against speed bias @ Tim in sprint
  3. #4 – Discreet Rose (3-1): House Horse will have Co. on the front end, but might have enough gas

Race 2

  1. #1A – Remembermealways (1-1): Entrymate #1 will scratch; only one in here who can win from off the pace

  1. #2 – Ransom Paid (3-1): Won 2nd race last time in 23rd start; can repeat as best Brisnet# came on off track
  2. #5 – Flash Heart (15-1): Classic case of 2nd-itis (13:0-7-0) at this distance, but 1 of 2 career wins on off track
  3. #4 – Steve (3-5): From Sar to bottom level @ Lrl; only 2 wins have been on turf; needs to go gate-2-wire

Race 4

  1. #7 – Light the Sky (6-5): $750k yearling purchase was runner-up in debut on turf @ Del; grab cap & gown
  2. #1 – Broken Bridle (8-1): Has a long, 4-month work tab preparing for career debut; love the 1 mile works

* Race 5  –  OFF THE TURF

  1. #8 – Anniebear (7-2): Rare MTO entry for Motion, especially when this one has run on turf & synthetic
  2. #1 – Champion Rose (8-1): MTO; well-traveled FTS has worked @ GP in ’14 & WO in ’15; see sy & my works
  3. #11 – Time to Spare (8-1): MTO; Like this angle… takes time off after debut to regroup/mature nice 6f works
