[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park has seven (7) races (4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th) scheduled, led to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs on Saturday is for Partly Cloudy skies with high temps in the mid-70s and just a slight chance of precipitation. Therefore, the below selections are based on those races being run ON the TURF.

Race 1

  1. #7 – Virden Corinthian (1-1): Toss last one on turf; 2 of 3 dirt tries produced top 2 Brisnet#’s in here
  2. #4 – Colton’s Grand (15-1): Looks like only early speed sprinting; not many at this level want to pass
  3. #3 – Elusive Breeze (4-1): Steep drop from MSW to MCL$12,500 but Russell stays on instead of FTG #5

Race 2

  1. #1 – No Brakes (7-2): 10 y.o. claimed for $4k by Potts @ The Big T; might have a few good races left
  2. #3 – Dixie Deputy (3-1): Likes Lrl dirt oval (3: 2-1-0); 2nd class drop after claim 2 back though
  3. #4 – A Fleet Spirit (12-1): Is just 1 of 2 in here to have won going 7f… only one to have done it twice!

Race 3

  1. #2 – Jumpin Julian (6-1): Adds Blinkers; Drops and should relish two-turns
  2. #9 – Bissinger (7-5): Nice debut effort @ Tim to get 3rd when ignored at windows (21-1)
  3. #6 – Dor (5-1): Has improved Brisnet# in each start; 2-turns last out @ Tim should help

* Race 4 – Brookmeade Stakes

  1. #6 – Leda’s Swan (4-1): Runner-up in this event @ Cnl in ’13; tall order to win it in ’15 debut?
  2. #5 – Seeking Her Glory (5-2): Past glory that is; graded stakes placed in ’14; 3rd behind 2 G3 foes in R10
  3. #3 – Complete St. (3-1): Flat v. similar 1st w/o Lasix, but Brisnet# still good enough to win here

Race 5

  1. #5 – Dagburnit (4-1): His foes will give him a perfect pace setup; 2 for 2 on Lrl dirt oval
  2. #9 – Devilish Gait (3-1): 8 y.o. seems to have found back class & stamina; one to catch
  3. #1 – Ration (8-1): Went route 1st off claim could have been a conditioner for today

* Race 6 – Jamestown Stakes

  1. #4 –Gem (7-2): *Best Bet* NY shipper for E. Kenneally had troubled debut @ Sar, 3¾ behind next out winner
  2. #9 – Queen Caroline (6-1): Horrible start, worse finish when 3-1 in debut; Adds Lasix & switches to turf
  3. #12 – Grace Is Ready (15-1): Strictly a turf breeding (by More Than Ready) play; Lasix free for debut

* Race 7 – Bert Allen Stakes

  1. #2 – Rose Brier (1-1): Returning Champ is as game as they come; win or not, he’ll be in the mix late
  2. #3 – Special Envoy (7-5): Clearly 2nd best on paper; comes off runner-up effort in G3; might bounce
  3. #9 – Greek God (15-1): Vast improvement after getting blinkers 3 back & Pimentel in the irons

* Race 8 – Oakley Stakes

  1. #4 – Exaggerated (5-2): Impressive maiden win in debut as heavy favorite; going 2 for 2 seems likely
  2. #11 – Hooligan (2-1): Wesley Ward (1 for 2 @ Lrl) ships capable filly who won Jamestown here last year
  3. #12 – Roxbury Rocket (12-1): Hasn’t had a clean trip in past 4 outings; outside post should remedy that

* Race 9 – Punch Line Stakes

  1. #7 – Mount Recovery (12-1): $Longshot Play$ Sharp gate-2-wire maiden win on dirt; expecting same on turf
  2. #9 – Two Notch Road (1-1): Definitely the class of this field, but will need help up front early to soften speed late
  3. #3 – Anybodyreallyknow (6-1): Owns a win & 3rd at this distance on the grass; should be heard from early

* Race 10 – G3 Commonwealth Oaks

  1. #11 – Zvarkhova (3-1): Chad Brown filly beat next out winner last month @ Sar in N.A. debut
  2. #9 – Onus (4-1): Takes huge step up for Shug after burying local maidens & N1X on Lrl lawn
  3. #2 – Lola Beaux (12-1): Been competitive as she’s risen thru the ranks, improving Brisnet# too

* Race 11

  1. #11 – Fantod (10-1): Field lacks early speed except for this 9 y.o.; if he clears the field, say goodbye
  2. #2 – Talkin’ Stuff (7-2): Not the cleanest of trips last outing; runner-up 2 back at this level
  3. #1 – Marsden (4-1): Eligible based on most recent race; back class might help him v. these
