[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park has five (5) races (4th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th) scheduled, led to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs on Friday is for Mostly Sunny skies with high temps in the mid-80s and no chance of precipitation. Therefore, the below selections are based on those races being run ON the TURF.

Race 1

  1. #4 – Counting Days (5-2): 4 time winner won 1st ever on Fast track in last outing; can repeat
  2. #7 – Strong Shaft (10-1): Has a history of bouncing back after “stopping” in previous race
  3. #3 – Doc Cebu (2-1): Beaten favorite @ The Big T v. similar; 3rd start for Magee after claim

Race 2

  1. #2 – Ski Bare (9-5): Liked her at this level last time but was a Stewards’ scratch; sticking w/ her
  2. #1 – Fair Praise (2-1): One of Potts’s West Coast imports has done well in new digs
  3. #6 – Mimipaoponchis (9-2): Caught a speed favoring dirt strip last outing; best of the rest

Race 3

  1. #7 – Onemorsaturdaynite (6-5): After 3 tries on grass since Pino claim, she returns to dirt v. cheaper
  2. #2 – Something Saintly (10-1): Among those in here has best finish (2nd) at today’s distance in 3 tries
  3. #1 – Harem Honey (8-5): Nice form reversal @ Mth in most recent effort; best races have been here

* Race 4

  1. #7 – Countess Emma (12-1): $Longshot Play$ PP’s filled w/ 5f races; thinking the additional ½ furlong helps
  2. #10 – Seeyouinthetown (30-1): Has a case of “2nd-itis” (54:6-12-5) but has faced much better on turf
  3. #3 – Happy Talk (20-1): Makes turf debut in 21st career start; if off track form converts to turf, must use

Race 5

  1. #1 – Techwood (8-1): Nice effort in last steps him up well stretching out to distance of lone win
  2. #5 – Justthewayitis (6-1): Ignore the turf races and he’s competitive at this level on dirt
  3. #4 – Salsalito (5-1): Looking for 1st win on dirt (0 for 9) but gets his best distance (3:0-2-1)

* Race 6

  1. #11 –Killington (5-1): *Best Bet* Class drop, addition of Boyce after troubled trip puts her in the mix
  2. #8 – My Tootsy (6-1): Improving Brisnet# in past two and drop makes her a threat
  3. #12 – Twin Lights (7-2): Adds blinkers; been knocking on the door; Contessa/Russell team 23%

* Race 7

  1. #5 – Tightly Bridled (5-2): Vast improvement since switching to turf after claim 2 back; 3rd time a charm?
  2. #12 – Sharp as Ice (8-1): On shelf after being beaten favorite; could get EZ lead & wire’m; add blinkers
  3. #3 – Dune Dancer (8-1): 3rd race after layoff; not sure about Special K’s recent ride; hoping for better

Race 8

  1. #5 – Save a Rose (7-2): Super Saver FTS is 1 of 2 entered in here for A. Dutrow; this one’s owner has deep pockets
  2. #1 – Set for Six (6-1): This outfit better known for turf runners; rail is a hard draw but like the work tab
  3. #2 – Paradise Bird (9-2): Summer Bird FTS might need more distance but love that final tune-up 6f work

* Race 9

  1. #12 – Majestic Minister (4-1): Sneaks in off AE due to Early Scratches pre-M/L; Ness 36% 1st after claim
  2. #1 – Ginger N Rye (10-1): All over her for winning effort in last v. MD-bred makes her still eligible for N1X
  3. #10 – Northern Smile (10-1): Was over her head in state bred stakes; had pair of 2nd’s at this level 2 & 3 back

* Race 10

  1. #3 – Glenstal Abbey (5-2): Logical choice after coming up a neck short last time at same level & distance
  2. #11 – Trusted Choice (12-1): Could be “lone speed” if L. Mejias reads PP’s; needs to clear from outside
  3. #1 – Barnards Galaxy (10-1): Gives best effort when facing similar; needs to avoid wide trip
