[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park had four (4) races (5th, 6th, 8th, 9th) scheduled, led to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs on Sunday is for Partly Sunny skies with high temps in mid-80’s and just a slight chance of scattered thunderstorms. Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain on Saturday, MJC decided to take today’s 5th and 6th races OFF THE TURF while leaving races 8 and 9 ON the TURF.

Race 1

  1. #7 – Madbobandshan (9-5): 4f @ Tim was too short; if Caitlyn can’t get this one home, then Bob will be mad!
  2. #4 – Fifteen Black (7-2): Gets distance he’s had most success (6:1-1-2) for a N2L; Potts/Amiss perfect (1 for 1)
  3. #1 – Blanchester Road (8-1): From 4 career starts, 1 win. It was only race on fast track and today’s distance

Race 2

  1. #5 – Wicked Heat (5-2): Takes biggest class drop after failing @ CT in N1X; Potts/Thorpe win @ Lrl 22%
  2. #4 – Consistency (9-2): Won 2nd career race here 2 back; 1st race for F. Allen after claim; retains Boyce
  3. #2 – Curlin’s Kid (7-5): Idle since May 31st; gaps between works raises caution flag on drop

Race 3

  1. #6 – Snow Leopard (9-2): Catches a field that lacks early speed; wins when he can relax early
  2. #1/1A – Cooking Up a Storm/Cusabo (9-5): #1 will likely scratch; if not both have equal shot at scoring victory
  3. #5 – The Camden Comet (7-2): Others in here have gotten the best of him in past; 3rd race after layoff a charm?

Race 4

  1. #9 – He’s Not Bluffin (7-2): Claimed in 1st race after 20 month layoff; hard to ignore Magee 32% 1st off claim
  2. #3 – Tiger Distinction (8-1): Nothing since being claimed 3 back; been facing open claimers gives glimmer of hope
  3. #8 – Ifimlyinimdyin (3-1): Just missed @ Pen v. similar on a drop flashing old form; gets extra furlong

* Race 5 OFF THE TURF

  1. #6 – Miss Speak (5-1): Nice effort off claim for D. Capuano; Boyce in irons increases her chances
  2. #13 – Alpha Darlin (8-1): Only AE willing to go on dirt; not much in here to beat even w/ class jump
  3. #5 – Chase My Tail (12-1): Nice dirt record and stretching out should put her in the mix late

* Race 6 – OFF THE TURF

  1. #1 – Minor Legend (6-1): Speed on dirt in debut and plethora of scratches makes him a logical contender
  2. #8 – Proration (15-1): Drops in for tag; dirt race 3 back was against much tougher MSWs than this group
  3. #3 – Max’s Batman (15-1): Off turf might benefit this FTS whose tossed a couple A.M. bullet works

Race 7

  1. #8 – Bioterp (8-1): $Longshot Play$ FTS by Lion Hearted has nice work tab; Mejias will get her out early; D. Capuano 20% w/ FTS
  2. #5 – Amour’s Charm (6-1): Nevin ships Magna Graduate FTS from Bel for high-profile owner (M. Dubb)
  3. #3 – If the Crown Fits (5-2): Took action (5-2) in debut for Ness, settled for 2nd; should move forward off that

* Race 8 ON THE TURF

  1. #10 – In Good Company (6-1): *Best Bet* Got an education turf sprinting in debut; by Aussie grass Lonhro whose babies have done well going long
  2. #7 – Occasionally (12-1): It’s rare Trombetta FTS don’t get bet (19-1); this one showed late interest sprinting; Pimentel takes reins today
  3. #5 – Graceful Kumi (7-2): Must respect Delacour FTS on turf; has nice work tab & attracts McCarthy to ride

* Race 9 ON THE TURF

  1. #3 – A Funny Song (6-1): Very professional debut while pressed every step and was up to the challenge
  2. #9 – Sunrise Sunset (4-1): Owns best turf Brisnet# among this group; Weaver ships in from Bel just for this one
  3. #7 – Blame Me (10-1): In Exacta in all 3 efforts on turf at this distance while not having the cleanest of trips

Race 10

  1. #7 – Lostinthestars (6-1): Going long on grass in debut when dirt works looked good was a mystery
  2. #4 – To Blave (9-2): Yes It’s True FTS has steady works w/ a couple bullets; tote will give a clue if he’s “live”
  3. #8 – More On Tap (5-2): Debut @ Pen came up short; will have company on the lead; lukewarm support
