* At the Timonium Fair Grounds ALL RACES are contested on a 5/8 mile dirt oval. Forecast for the northern Baltimore suburb on MONDAY is for Mostly Sunny skies with temps in the mid-80’s and just a slight chance of precipitation. Therefore, selections are based on the track condition being FAST.

Race 1

  1. #4 – Fortyshadesofgreen (9-5): Stuck 4 wide throughout when 3-2 fav. v better last outing
  2. #5 – Kobuk Valley (6-1): Tossing race here last week; can take advantage of pace meltdown
  3. #1 – Take the Train (5-1): Drops to level she won at 2 back; got beat in last by 2 next out winners

Race 2

  1. #2 – Sallyssilverstreak (9-2): FL-bred FTS by champion sprinter Benny the Bull; like jock choice
  2. #6 – Fiveoclocksomwhere (5-2): Claimed for $16k out of runner-up debut; nice works for new barn
  3. #5 – Capucine (7-5): Vulnerable M/L fav. runner-up in debut here just 10 days ago; too soon?

Race 3

  1. #1 – Doddsprivatelabel (5-2): *Best Bet* Class of this field, only question is will he handle the bull ring
  2. #2 – Sachicomula (9-5): Will have company early on (from #5) which may compromise WIN chances
  3. #6 – Cooking Up a Storm (5-1): Won 5 of last 6, but all on Tapeta (synthetic) surface; 2 of 14 on natural dirt

Race 4

  1. #2 – Scarlett’s Image (12-1): $Longshot Play$ Nightmarish debut @ Lrl on turf; like dirt works since
  2. #3 – It’s a Trend (2-5): M/L odds indication of (lack of) quality competition, not her quality; 2nd in debut here
  3. #4 – Poco Loco (5-1): No other speed in here other than hers; fired a bullet work for new barn via claim

Race 5

  1. #2 – Fridays Gift (5-1): Just 1 of 2 (other is #7) who faced open company $5k recently; gets favorable pace
  2. #7 – Doubleblackdiamond (3-1): Troubled trip v. better last outing @ Lrl, but twice as many 2nds as wins
  3. #1 – One Tough Cowgirl (5-2): Trainer J. Secor (31%) places them where they can be successful

Race 6

  1. #4 –Callmealion (5-2): Game effort last week here when in tight quarters, great gallop out; in form
  2. #7 – Killin them Softly (2-1): Should get clear run to lead from outside; saving ground on turn is key
  3. #3 – Awake the Day (3-1): Has faced much better than these in the past; 4: 1-2-0 at today’s distance

Race 7

  1. #6 – Citation Star (2-1): Nice late run in 1st race off McMahon claim going 4f; extra distance helps
  2. #1 – Skip the Punch (7-5): Didn’t weaken or quit in that last effort, simply got beat by a better colt
  3. #4 – Great Plan (6-1): Corrales has had insanely successfully meet (9: 3-1-4); this FTS might be cherry on top

Race 8

  1. #4 – David’s Prince (5-1): Blks Off after being eased @ Del; note the recent 3f :34 1/5 bullet drill
  2. #2 – Katman Quick (5-2): Will be pace-setter w/ only one other (#7) who will want lead
  3. #1/1A – It’s a Plane/Jan’s Last Dance (8-5): IMHO both have equal shot at victory; #1 1st start for KTL
