* At the Timonium Fair Grounds ALL RACES are contested on a 5/8 mile dirt oval. Forecast for the northern Baltimore suburb on SUNDAY is for Mostly Sunny skies with temps in the low-80’s and just a slight chance of precipitation. Therefore, selections are based on the track condition being FAST.

Race 1

  1. #1 – Oh Deann (1-2): Pen shipper won v. N4L 2 back in gate-2-wire fashion for high pct. trainer (24%)
  2. #5 – Toby Who (9-2): Tried turf off the bench v. better; runner-up in last dirt for N3L, winner repeated
  3. #4 – Clowns to the Left (8-1): Fresh off 2nd career win v. a few tough $5k Claimers (Did I really say that?!)

Race 2

  1. #6 – Blazing Brother (7-2): Disappointing 4th in debut when sent off 3-2 fav.; extra furlong should help
  2. #5 – Schlosser (2-1): First start since being gelded; might be distance challenged but must respect
  3. #7 – Bissinger (8-1): Another Friesan Fire baby won on Friday in debut; Tim Ice looking for soft spot?

Race 3

  1. #6 – Dustin E (3-5): Déjà vu! Won easily on Opening Day & goes for 3rd straight for Magee
  2. #1 – I Feel Luckie (4-1): Failed big time as fav. but stumbled v. PA-breds; could be lone speed
  3. #3 – Conquista Grande (7-2): Runner-up to Dustin E last outing; needs to be closer to the pace

Race 4

  1. #3 – Bad Boy Peter (7-5): Hard to bet against K. Patterson runners (30%; 3 for 3 @ Tim)
  2. #2 – Open Rebellion (3-1): Jock (A. Rod) first mount of meet; guided this one to victory 2 back
  3. #5 – Solidario (5-2): First time going less than 5f; can catch early speed in deep stretch

Race 5

  1. #1 – Hurler (9-2): Got a nice 4f afternoon workout here chasing 2 speedsters; this distance suits
  2. #2 – Mauro and Jesus (8-1): Away since maiden win v. NY-breds @ Aqu in Apr.; impressive works
  3. #6 – Dr Bolt (6-1): Cuts back to distance where he’s been successful stalking early speed

Race 6

  1. #5 –Betty Brown Nose (6-5): Needs an alert start to get 2nd “W”; has best Brisnet# in the field
  2. #7 – Khloe’s Quest (1-1): Gets the early lead but has failed as fav. in last 3 efforts; hard to trust
  3. #4 – Magic Spur (8-1): Should challenge “Khloe” early; class relief might give her an edge

Race 7

  1. #1 – Slew Hot to Handle (5-2): *Best Bet* Delgado stays in irons; gets rail trip here for chance to graduate
  2. #4 – A.P. Holiday (6-1): Toss last 2 route races & she has potential for upset just beyond 6f
  3. #5 – Not for Fun (7-5): Makes 3rd start after layoff; abandons turf; bridesmaid twice in 3 dirt tries

Race 8

  1. #1 – Whennoone’slooking (5-1): Will be on the lead but needs to slow it down to last 6½f
  2. #3 – One Proud Gal (8-5): Ness sneaky offering her for $20k not $25k, but she’s won twice in same scenario
  3. #4 – Avie (3-1): Eppler showing faith in Bug Girl Green or looking to unload? 3rd here last year

Race 9

  1. #6 – Mimipaoponchis (8-1): $Longshot Play$ Impeded late by #7 in last here; turns tables w/ better ride

Of the suggested multi-race wagers hit the $5 DOUBLE in R1-R2 for $31.00 (cost: $10).
  • BEST BET of the Day (88: 23-22-14) Word Racer (6th race: 3-1 M/L; 8-5 PT) saved ground, edged up leaving the three eighths pole, angled out midway on the final turn, circled three wide into the stretch and finished well to be quickly gaining in the final sixteenth to miss by a shortening 1¼ lengths to return $3.60 to PLACE and $3.00 to SHOW.
  • LONGSHOT PLAY OF THE DAY (82: 11-9-17) Goldtonic (4th race: 8-1 M/L; 5-1 PT) dueled inside, briefly went clear midway down the backstretch, met the bid of the winner after six furlongs, failed to match strides with that one, gave hard chase into the lane and kept trying to the wire while failing to hold onto the runner-up spot in the final strides to return $2.60 to SHOW.
