Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs on Sunday is for Partly Sunny skies with temps in the mid-80’s with a slim chance of a rain. Therefore, the below selections in are based on those race being run ON the TURF.

 

Race 1

  1. #7 – Go Big Blue (6-1): Turf debut in MCL $25k proved he at least hates turf; huge drop  
  2. #3 – Rodeado (6-5): Runner-up as 9-5 PT fav. when dropped to this level last time out
  3. #8 – Stomp an Go (4-1): If anything, he should be on the lead hoping others lack will   

 

Race 2

  1. #4 – Empress Hatshepsut Fan (1-1): Catches weak field as mare is regaining back class        
  2. #3 – Smooth Approach (6-1): Not to be confused w/ “The GQ…”; wins at this level          
  3. #2 – Heidi’s Holiday (3-1): Late on the scene for minor share going 7f; 3 for 43 lifetime

  1. #8 – Preskit Sue (7-2): Last week Magee won w/ similar from TX who I ignored  
  2. #5 – Better Way (7-5): Candidate for “Maiden for Life” seems to lack will to win      
  3. #6 – Elusive Snack (6-1): Claimed for $8k in debut when 66-1, then battled boys on turf

  • BEST BET of the Day (77: 18-20-13) Warleigh (5th race: 6-1 M/L; 8-1 PT) showed brief speed but gradually weakened thru the stretch to finish off-the-board.
  • LONGSHOT PLAY OF THE DAY (70: 11-7-15) Money Fan (2nd race: 10-1 M/L; 9-2 PT) rated in the middle of the pack then began a sustained run in the stretch at the leader but came up a neck short of the victory returning $5.80 to PLACE and $3.00 to SHOW.
