* Laurel Park has four (4) races (4th, 5th, 7th, 8th) scheduled, led to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs on Sunday is for Sunny skies with temps near 90 with 0% chance of precipitation. Therefore, the below selections in those races are based on the belief they will be run ON the TURF.

Race 1

  1. #4 – Changingoftheguard (4-1): *Best Bet* Gets first jump from the gate, won’t look back
  2. #5 – Amelia Rose (10-1): Does best running at Laurel (3:1-1-0)
  3. #1 – Latasense (6-1): Best on an off track, but not much else in here

Race 2

  1. #8 – Street Poet (6-1): Banking on dislike of an off track & traffic in last ass excuse
  2. #1 – Angel Clarence O (5-2): Graduated in 9th career start, can repeat v. these
  3. #4 – Fifteen Black (3-1): Another last time graduate who fits at this level for Potts

Race 3

  1. #2 – Ticket to Riches (2-1): Best of a poor lot at the bottom of the maiden barrel
  2. #3 – Northern Prancer (6-1): Adds blinkers; Drops from MSW then $25k to here
  3. #8 – Morethanbeautiful (8-5): Question will to win at this point in her career

* Race 4

  1. #10 – Ello Govna (10-1): $Longshot Play$ Can turf and should love 2-turns
  2. #3 – Super Causeway (7-2): Bred for long on the grass; Add blinkers
  3. #1/1A – Pagan Power/Diamond Hunter (4-1): Like both; FTS is interesting w/ Garcia

* Race 5

  1. #1 – Southern Equity (9-2): Back to 2-turns after a sprint to wake her up
  2. #3 – Mavourneen (5-1): Away since last Oct. when she faced tougher
  3. #8 – Olympic Medallist (4-1): Needs to be involved early for chance to get 2nd “W”

Race 6

  1. #5 – Ore Pass (6-1): Only 1 of 2 in here to have won going 7 panels
  2. #7 – Reggie D (7-2): Magee 1st off claim (33%) a no brainer to include; steps up
  3. #6 – Broad Rule (6-1): Can take early lead (& wire’m) as rest of field lacks speed

* Race 7

  1. #9 – Bonnie K (5-2): Best of 7 career outings was lone turf sprint when steadied
  2. #5 – Dixie Victory (9-2): Fair try v. better; Russell back in irons helps
