YESTERDAY’S NEWS

  • On Sunday July 26th at Laurel my dart-throwing cousin QG filled in with perfection, 8 winners from 8 races (3 Top Picks payoff in BOLD) having $2 WIN pay-off of $6.60 (1st race), $3.40 (2nd), $14.00 (3rd race), $5.00 (4th), $4.60 (5th), $8.20 (6th), $7.20 (7th) and $10.20 (8th) while on Saturday July 25th yours truly couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with a bass fiddle managing just 2 winners from 8 races, $7.40 (5th race) and $4.20 (6th).
  • The QG BEST BET of the Day on Sunday, Too Clever by Half (4th race: 2-1 M/L; 7-2 PT) prompted the pace 3-4 wide, responded when set down in upper stretch, moved to command in mid-stretch, met the winner’s charge and gave way grudgingly to finish third returning $2.80 to SHOW.
  • The QG LONGSHOT PLAY OF THE DAY on Sunday, Stormy Arch Tko (6th race: 10-1 M/L; 9-1 PT) pressed the pace two wide, took a brief lead nearing the quarter pole then weakened in the final eighth to finish 7th.
  • The GQ BEST BET of the Day (72: 16-19-13) from Saturday Troubled Waters (7th race: 7-2 M/L; 2-1 PT) well off the rail, chased the winner and flattened, losing the runner-up spot on the last jump to return $2.60 to SHOW.
  • The GQ LONGSHOT PLAY OF THE DAY (65: 11-6-14) from Saturday Maryland Mystique (4th race: 8-1 M/L; 7-1 PT) had a wide trip throughout while not threatening, finishing 5th.
