[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park had three (3) races (5th, 7th, 8th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. The rain over the past week forced the decision to only run the 5th and 8th races ON THE TURF while taking the 7th race OFF THE TURF. We’ll assume this strange decision was based on the anticipated number of scratches from the 5th and 8th races if those were taken off the turf and/or the negative affect those scratches would have had on the new Super High 5 wager (in the 8th race). The below selections were made based on these facts.

Race 1

  1. #6 – Schlosser (5-2): Drops from MSW and adds blainkers; 3rd start is a charm?
  2. #8 – Crossing Borders (9-2): Took some time off after a dirt & turf; like the work tab
  3. #7 – Dixie Knight (5-1): FTS for Ham Smith/X-Man combo winning at 24% clip

Race 2

  1. #5 – Gig Em (9-2): Away since July ’14; quickest from gate in here, might last
  2. #3 – Money Fan (2-1): Early foot but slower than top pick; Albert just 1 for 43 in ‘15
  3. #7 – Gottcha Bob (8-1): Can hang with top two early but staying on is the question

Race 3

  1. #6 – Ben’s Girl (10-1): $Longshot Play$ Love this FTS bullets in both gate works
  2. #4 – Sittin’ n’ Sippin (5-2): Got education in debut; like comment “with interest”
  3. #8 – Jump Rope (9-2): NY-bred FTS should be quick from the gate based on A.M. works

Race 4

  1. #4 – Raven Alexa (4-1): 2nd start for Magee (27% in ’15); 2-turns = gate-2-wire trip
  2. #8 – Just a Wildflower (10-1): Hoping for return to ’14 Del form going 2-turns
  3. #6 – Rugged Cross (6-1): Never embarrasses herself, needs aggressive ride

* Race 5 – ON THE TURF

  1. #1 – Silver Rock (9-2): *Best Bet* Fits conditions nicely; 2 of 4 on Lrl turf
  2. #5 – Barney Rebel (6-1):Kudos to J. Delozier III for successfully taking ALL his claims off Lasix
  3. #3 – I’m Da Big Man (9-2): Goes for natural Hat Trick as speed figures keep rising

Race 6

  1. #2 – The Snickers Kid (8-1): Mth invader for potent combo (Pimentel/C.Gonzalez 24%)
  2. #7 – Rojo Perfecto (7-2): Has found this level to his liking for Robb barn
  3. #10 – Channel Changer (20-1): Forgiving mud run; did well w/ Glaser in irons

* Race 7 – OFF THE TURF

  1. #5 – Prince Leroi (6-1): Benefits from being taken off the turf; can handle step up
  2. #8 – Causeworthy (15-1): This one needs breaks every 3rd race; is live off the bench
  3. #3 – I’m Mr. Blue (10-1): Always in the mix; won last time he was in for a Tag

* Race 8 – ON THE TURF

  1. #2 – Access to the Moon (9-2): Nice runs in first two on grass; Boyce stays
  2. #16 – Ascot Girl (3-1): Sneaks in off Also Eligible for Matz; major player in here
  3. #11 – Imnaha (6-1): Part of Exacta in all 3 turf tries; Y. Ortiz takes reins for Bernardini
