[su_heading size=”21″ align=”left”]Analysis[/su_heading]

* Laurel Park has four (4) races (2nd, 5th, 7th, 8th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. There was some rain overnight and the forecast for the northern D.C. suburbs on Independence Day (Saturday) is for Mostly Cloudy skies with temps in the low 70’s and 40-65% chance of scattered thunderstorms all morning through 2pm (1st race post time is 1:30pm). What to do? The below selections were made on the belief that main track races will be run on an OFF TRACK and just in case the rain never materializes, there are selections for both ON and OFF TURF. Good Luck!

Race 1

  1. #6 – Dr Bolt (2-1): Was in over his head in Starter Alw @ Del in 1st after G. Capuano claim
  2. #8 – Wilko Rum (9-5): Does his best work on an off track, otherwise he’s a play against at these odds
  3. #5 – Bourbon Man (9-2): Karamanos/Magee combo has won 8 of 13 (62%) in 2015

* Race 2IF ON THE TURF:

  1. #5 – Issheit (8-5): Sure hope so! Goes for natural Hat Trick on grass; Ness sez, “She’s doin’ great!”
  2. #9 – Moral High Ground (10-1): Shuman claimed & gets Pimentel; could show back class today
  3. #7 – Take It Inside (9-2): Should be part of the pace, if anyone can survive gate-2-wire it’s her

IF OFF THE TURF:
#7 – Take It Inside (9-2): She SHOWed in her last main track race which was at this level
#1 – Breezy Girl (15-1): 1st off claim wanted to turf for 1st time but should make noise after scratches
#3 – Donna’s Girl (30-1): Pen shipper must be considered if track is off (7: 1-1-3); been facing better

Race 3

  1. #3 – Dream Brew (9-5): House Horse not cutting it in MSW, so she takes precipitous drop
  2. #10 – Scatajawea (2-1): Continues to drop since arriving from West Coast; failed as 4-5 fav. in last
  3. #7 – Choice Appeal (10-1): Been getting minor awards at this level; extra furlong might help

Race 4

  1. #7 – It’s a Plane (4-1): *Best Bet* Has plenty of upside; should get nice stalking trip behind early speed
  2. #8 – Badwater (5-2): Magee claim that hasn’t worked out; drops again in search of “W”
  3. #2 – Conquista Grande (5-1): 1 for 17 lifetime but 1 for 1 @ Lrl; might be horse 4 course

* Race 5 – IF ON THE TURF:

  1. #12 – Nolan’s Dream (5-1): Made turf debut in Lrl Futurity last Sept.; ready to run huge
  2. #3 – Jo Way Java (30-1): 3rd off layoff; Toss last on dirt; traffic issues 2 back v. similar
  3. #15 – Dune Dancer (10-1): Big time traffic trouble in past 2 on turf at this level

IF OFF THE TURF:
#14 – Stormy Situation (6-1): McMahon takes advantage of Waiver Rule
#9 – Daystrike (15-1): Away since Dec., got gelded and shows nice work tab
#4 – Vision of Green (20-1): Adds blinkers after taking time off after woeful 1st off claim effort

Race 6

  1. #7 – Island Sunset (8-1): $Longshot Play$ Exits 2 CT runner-up races; competed @ Pim, why not @ Lrl?
  2. #1/1A – Brush Creek/Rainbowappears (12-1): Love #1 if Off Track; King probably runs one
  3. #6 – Mr. Lit (20-1): Must use if Off Track (6: 1-0-5); even won on fast track @ Pim 5 back

* Race 7 – IF ON THE TURF:

  1. #6 – Broad Moon (9-2): Brisnet speed fig keeps getting better; 2 of 6 on turf
  2. #7 – All Alone (3-1): Has shown strong late kick in both turf efforts; one to beat
  3. #10 – Mr. Rover (15-1): OTB in both turf tries but at higher levels; could light up tote

IF OFF THE TURF:
#8 – Talkin’ Stuff (6-1): Seems more of a threat on an Off Track here, in spite of recent turf win
#6 – Broad Moon (9-2): Should run on or off turf; Brisnet speed fig keeps climbing
#11 – Supermon (10-1): Pen shipper via Tam really doesn’t want turf; nice fit for condition on dirt

* Race 8 – IF ON THE TURF:

  1. #9 – Stonebriar (15-1): Just graduated in 12th start but faced strong foes along the way; turf debut
  2. #1/1A – Magician’s Bullet/Troubled Waters (7-2): Both are threats to get home first, on turf or dirt
  3. #14 – Mabroom (8-1): Never runs a bad one on turf but needs fast pace to back up to him late

IF OFF THE TURF:
#5 – On Spirit River (3-1): Speed of the speed catches a break if off turf; boasts best Brisnet #
#4 – Team Tim (6-1): Can benefit from a speed duel to turn the tables on top pick
#1/1A – Magician’s Bullet/Troubled Waters (7-2): Both are threats to get home first, on turf or dirt
