* Pimlico Race Course have five (5) races (3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 10th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. The forecast for the Baltimore metropolitan area on Saturday is for Mostly Sunnyy skies with high temp in the low 80’s with just a 10% chance of scattered thunderstorms. The below selections in those races are based on the belief they will be run ON the TURF.

Race 1

  1. #4 – Scatajawea (7-5): Turf experiment over? Back on dirt & drops 2 classes
  2. #2 – Ski Bare (9-2): 2 turf tries to start career rendered nothing; shift to dirt & drops
  3. #6 – Better Way (5-2): Top Brisnet Prime Power# but always finds a (better) way to lose

Race 2

  1. #7 – Clowns to the Left (8-1): $Longshot Play$ “… Jokers to the Right, here I am picking one w/ Second-itis”
  2. #1 – Hereshecomesagain (3-1): Completes the musical Exacta, Stealers Wheel over The Cars
  3. #2 – Geepers Creepers (5-2): Ol’ Blue Eyes song was “Jeepers” w/ a “J”; fresh off MCL “W” meets weak N2L

* Race 3

  1. #8 – Bai Bai Baby (4-1): Nice late run sprinting on turf @ GP in Jan.; Servis found soft spot
  2. #1 – Chase Me Now (15-1): 5f 1st off bench was a freshener for today’s return to route
  3. #3 – Inspiration (5-2): Tam shippers have done well; Sheppard looking for 1st “W” of meet (0 for 19)

Race 4

  1. #2 – Gasparilla (7-5): High profile owner/barn ship to win; 1st going 2-turns is key
  2. #4 – Opie (6-1): OTB when 3-5 in 2nd start due to bad start & steadied along the way
  3. #5 – Share the Music (9-5): Adds Blinkers; 2 for 2 in career being bridesmaid

* Race 5

  1. #5 – Angel Code (5-2): $Best Bet$ Speed of the speed shortening up in 1st turf try
  2. #7 – See What Happens (3-1): Goes for natural Pim Hat Trick at same distance & surface
  3. #8 – Pennies Appeal (4-1): Couldn’t catch #7 in last outing; 3rd after layoff… now or never

* Race 6

  1. #11 – Wicked Heat (5-2): Honest running gelding should get a nice stalking trip
  2. #1 – Tazmanian Charlie (15-1): Eligible for N2L but stretching out should suit him just fine
  3. #8 – Cruise More (12-1): 7 y.o. in new digs might show improvement while stepping up

Race 7

  1. #3 – Seventy West (3-1): Needs a masterful ride from Boyce to take field gate to wire
  2. #1 – Fulton Street (15-1): Not much other speed to run early w/ him; taking a shot here
  3. #5 – Clear Out (12-1): Could be protected off 18 mo. layoff but is not; bullet works say “ready”

* Race 8

  1. #11(AE) – Dune Dancer (10-1): Excuses in both turf sprints at meet; clean trip gets the “W”
  2. #3 – Sterling’s Maximus (5-2): Been knocking on the door since Claim 3 races back
  3. #9 – Cytherean (15-1): Gut feeling that distance try 1st off the bench was set-up for this sprint
  4. #10 – Magician’s Bullet (3-1): If #11(AE) scratches; Adds Blinkers; gets better w/ each race

Race 9

  1. #7 – Nolans Dream (4-1): Adds Blinkers; toss recent effort due to troubles in gate
  2. #5 – T Sizzle (6-1): Not a bad effort in 4 y.o. debut on turf; back on dirt w/ big effort here
  3. #1 – Thurmont (10-1): 1 for 20 lifetime facing multiple race winners but could surprise

* Race 10

  1. #14(AE) – Silver Rock (5-2): 8 y.o. needed last one off layoff; back to class level where he wins
  2. #5 – Alicantino (10-1): Way over head in 1st after Claim; nice move getting back on turf
  3. #9 – Hobo Ridge (4-1): Expected better from him last time; confidence level should be high
  4. #3 – Outofthedepths (5-1): If #14(AE) scratches; This is the guy who photo-bombed my pic below; won & Pd. $58.60 two back at same level, surface & distance
