* Pimlico Race Course have four (4) races (3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. The forecast for the Baltimore metropolitan area on Friday is for Partly Cloudy skies with high temp in the low 80’s with just a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms in the late afternoon. The below selections in those races are based on the belief they will be run ON the TURF.

Race 1

  1. #3 – Fifty Two (8-5): Runner-up in past 2 races when odds-on favorite; drops a level
  2. #4 – Rebel Spy (7-2): 3rd race off layoff angle; likes Pim dirt (5: 1-1-2)
  3. #5 – Badwater (3-1): Tough to ignore “Magee Magic” (33% 1st after Claim); jumps in class

Race 2

  1. #7 – Ermine and Purrs (8-1): $Longshot Play$ Quick from the gate in debut then faded; drops in for a Tag & should improve for Kobiskie
  2. #4 – Destination Love (5-1): Friesan Fire FTS has nice work tab, may need more distance
  3. #6 – Iwantapronotion (2-1): Pleasantly surprising 2nd in debut @ Pim when 11-1 v. boys

Race 3

  1. #2 – Sam’s Melody (3-1): Away since last Aug. when she OTB as even $ favorite
  2. #5 – Perigee Moon Slide (7-2): Toss dirt try; running back to debut on grass results in a “W”
  3. #7 – Paper Dollie (5-2): Showed early speed in both dirt sprints; 5f on turf could be the answer

Race 4

  1. #7 – No Brakes (5-1): *Best Bet* Deep Closer catches a field filled with early speed
  2. #2 – Harbor Breeze (3-1): Has the back class to repeat while taking step up
  3. #5 – Trusted Choice (5-2): Should get a nice stalking trip & pass leaders late

* Race 5

  2. #1 – Whyalwaysme (9-5): Joe Sharp alert! He’s 2-1-1 w/ 4 starters at Pim
  3. #5 – Well Played (6-1): Runner-up on dirt in last 2 going 6f; 5f on turf a plus

Race 6

  1. #6 – Loewenherz (6-1): Can get the early lead & set slow fractions; 3rd off layoff angle
  2. #7 – Bayou Bengal (5-1): Drops back down to class level of his most recent win
  3. #4 – Peaceadaaction (6-5): 7 y.o. recorded best speed fig of his 56-race career; Bounces?

* Race 7

  1. #6 – Victor Newman (6-1): Needs a masterful ride from Boyce to take field gate to wire
  2. #9 – Mr. Benz (5-2): High expectations for this Ghostzapper FTS from Rodney Jenkins barn
  3. #2 – Welcome Bay (3-1): Disappointing 3 y.o. dirt debut when 3-2 PT fav.; should take to turf

Race 8

  1. #2 – Pebble Beach Baby (8-5): Aqu Shipper for trainer who wins at 30% clip
  2. #3  – Understanding (6-1): Will be moving fast late; has done well 1st off the bench
  3. #5 – Miss Moonshine (5-2): Should get a perfect trip behind the 2 likely early speed

* Race 9
