* Pimlico Race Course has four (4) races (3rd, 5th, 7th & 8th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. Forecast for the Baltimore metropolitan area on Thursday is for Mostly Sunny skies with high temp in low 70’s. The below selections in those races are based on the belief they will be run ON the TURF.

Race 1

  1. #4 – Harbor Breeze (8-5): Competitive against N2Y in last; goes against N1Y here     
  2. #2 – Charlie Bull (7-5): M/L favorite by default; 60 career starts, makes Pim debut            
  3. #1 – Summer of Summers (5-1): usually pass on Suffolk shippers, but like local works       

Race 2

  1. #2 – Starship Marquis (5-1): Don’t be fooled by CT races; check out lone Pim start    
  2. #7 – Hopefally (9-5): Respect Robb 1st start after claim (32%) even though up in class    
  3. #4 – Perfect Trace (2-1): Beaten favorite in last; away 7 mos. & drops.   

 

*Race 3

  1. #4 – S S Skittles (3-1): Toss 1st race after layoff, a sprint… he’s not a sprinter  
  2. #6 – A. V. Jordan (20-1): Don’t laugh cuz of the 2 for 40 record; he’s 2 for 11 on turf
  3. #8 – How About Peace (8-1): need to look way back for his turf efforts… against tougher

  2. #4 – Mosso (3-1): Makes first start on East Coast for Potts; should be right there  
  3. #2 – Gonna Be Alright (4-1): Plenty of speed to run at late; McCarthy stays here

  1. #2 – Madog (5-1): Owns best Brisnet Speed Figure on turf in here
  2. #11 – Cavity (7-2): Wide move in turf debut sets him up for improvement  
  3. #4 – Hush Hush Henny (10-1): Key is stretching out after turf sprint debut

  1. #2x – Mshomecomingqueen (6-1): $Longshot Play$ Always gives an honest effort routing on turf
  2. #6 – Spunderful (6-1): Been on the shelf since October, jock Serpa’s only mount
  3. #5 – Cool Faith (9-5): Ambitiously placed filly in the past, ready for 4-yr-old debut

Race 9 

  1. #7 – Flavor (3-1): Encountered traffic in deep stretch costing a few positions in last race     
  2. #5 – Fulton Street (10-1): Takes advantage of the Waiver Claiming rule; bullets in A.M.   
  3. #4 – Vinny’s Wildcat (8-5): Gaudy stats for Ness 1st after claim (36%) & Drops off claim (42%)

 

 

YESTERDAY’S NEWS

  • On Sunday, May 9th at Pimlico had 6 winners from 9 races (1 Top Pick payoff in BOLD) having $2 WIN pay-off of $51.60 (1st race), $4.40 (2nd), $2.60 (3rd), $4.60 (5th), $22.00 (8th) and Dead Heat $2.80 & $2.80 (9th). Of the suggested Multi-Race wagers hit R1-R2 DOUBLE for $136.00 (cost of ticket $18) and R8-R9 DOUBLEs for $34.00 & $39.40 ($ 73.40 total) due to having both runners in a Dead Heat for the win in the 9th race (cost of ticket $18).
  • The BEST BET of the Day (51: 12-13-9) Cursive (7th race: 5-1 M/L; 7-2 PT) saved ground on the turn and was not a threat to the top pair, as she ran on to finish a distant 3rd to return $3.20 to SHOW.
  • The LONGSHOT PLAY OF THE DAY (45: 6-5-12) New Yawker (9th race: 12-1 M/L; 11-1 PT) rated back early, took a bad step near the three eighths pole. From then the jock took care of her and faded to finish 8th.
