* Pimlico Race Course has four (4) races (4th, 5th, 7th & 8th) scheduled to be run on the TURF. With showers in the Baltimore metropolitan area over the past 24 hours, it’s a tough call as to whether races will stay ON the TURF or be taken OFF the TURF. I’ve been down this road many-a-Pimlico Spring meets… if I were a betting man (pause for laughter), I’d bet races will be OFF the TURF, so below selections are based on that belief.

Race 1

  1. #1 – Money Fan (6-5): Always well backed (3-1 or less last 7 races) but just 1 win; Adds Blinkers
  2. #5 – Pirate’s Cove (5-2): Drops seeking 1st win on dirt; should be claimed to run back on turf
  3. #6 – Who Stole My Sock (12-1): Been away since late Oct.; lone win came at Old Hilltop

Race 2

  1. #4 – Wildcat Honey (7-2): Gets nice set up with enough speed for her to chase down late
  2. #3 – Stardust Lill (7-5): Could be victim of pace meltdown; an off track would help her
  3. #2 – Getaway Keys (9-5): CT runner will be winging it on front end early, but 6f a stretch

Race 3

  1. #7 – Deputy Fancy (8-1): $Longshot Play$ Could be a horse for the course; 6:2-2-0 @ Pim
  2. #6 – Lady Terp (9-5): Bridesmaid in last two; cut back in distance could be winning move
  3. #2 – Hypatia’s Sky (15-1): Blinkers Off; nice works coming of bench; has won 1st off layoff

*Race 4

  1. #8 – Nile Seeker (8-1): Prx shipper comes w/ Jackie Davis in the irons (45% w/ trainer)
  2. #3Triple Net (5-1): In for a tag for 1st time in 8 race career; needs honest pace
  3. #9 – Black Ice (4-1): Trailed in slop as PT fav.; 2-turns should help chances today

*Race 5

  1. #9 – Wolf King (6-1): Back to 2-turns could be Rx for a winning race
  2. #1 – Trade Rumor (8-1): MTO runner; 5:1-1-3 over a fast track; Reclaimed
  3. #8 – Tiago’s Honour (10-1): House Horse been away since Jan. when pulled up

Race 6

  1. #5 – Raising Passion (2-1): *Best Bet* Troubled trips in last two when in over her head
  2. #6 – Dance Off (5-1): 7 y.o. mare on the shelf since June; Bug Boy Thorpe good Pim start
  3. #7 – Latasense (5-2): Winner of N2L last outing at a price; broke maiden @ Pim

*Race 7

  1. #6 – Awesome Bill (3-1): MTO; ITM 5 of 6 lifetime efforts; first time 2-turns
  2. #10 – Tuckers Point (7-2): MTO; Has improved Brinset fig past 3 races
  3. #3 – Eyeplayeveryday (5-1): MTO; Reunited w/ McCarthy who rode him to Mdn win @ Pim

*Race 8

  1. #8 – Dr. Hal (5-1): Blinkers Off; Has early speed to hold on for 5f
  2. #6 – Angel Clarence O (5-1): Speedy 5 y.o. for Corrales who scores w/ 30% 2nd off layoff
  3. #3 – Zapata (5-2): Ran behind Tiz Shea D 2 back; has improved Brsinet# w/ each start
